My 2 year old had brain surgery on his right side 17 days ago, today he fell & hit the back of his head Should I have gone 2 A&E? He was ok
I am so worried so since he had his accident! He was fine after bumping the back of his head today and had had no other symptoms but how do I know he hasn't started to bleed internally again?!?!

I've been 50/50 on whether to go back to College or not. I really want to go back, if I don't, I won't get the qualification and i'll be even further behind to getting into the career I want. I miss the atmosphere of having a laugh with friends, and having the assignments to keep my brain in gear, and

Feeling panic/terror at the minute, I rarely get this...
I normally have constant butterflies and think alot, but tonight, it's gone up by about 10 levels! I'm hopefully re-taking my equine diploma in September, and was looking at open days at the College, there are only two dates left, I am actually crapping myself! One on the 3rd of July but I have two appointments

Cranioplasty
We have been waiting for weeks now for a call or letter to give Steve a date for his Cranioplasty. This morning the call came, and now I am worrying myself sick about it all. He is so scared. When he had his 7 hours of brain surgery in October, of course he knew nothing about it, but this time the thought

DBS plans on hold due to possible nocebo effects... I'm too crazy for brain surgery.
I have recently been processed with off-on testing and neuro-psychologist eval for DBS. My neurologist stated that I need to see a psychiatrist before they will schedule the procedure due to my anxiety depression issues fearing that I may be disappointed by the outcome. She further related that my

Seizures - Becoming a nuisance.
So around the beginning of August, I had my first seizure. I thought it was no big deal, I mean, I had brain surgery a few days before, it's a given that there's going to be some side-effects. The first one was fine, I was talking to a friend at my house who I hadn't seen in a long time, and at some

The fear
Latest blog from: www.hopegoesupanddown.blogs... - a record of the hope, terror and unknown future faced when the one you love most in the world suffers a brain injury. You know that moment when you've been trying to prise the lid of something and suddenly it pops off and the contents go everywhere

What is the best neurosurgery Hospital in the North West
I have TN Trigeminal neuralgia and I'm looking for the Hospital with the best track record to perform MVD operations (Micro Vascular Decompression). I understand Salford is very good in overall care but maybe someone can recommend a neurosurgeon they have experiance withwhich is really good and has performed

Sorry guys for the moaning but I'm feeling down and to be honest a bit sorry for myself. I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia for over 8 years and have had major back surgery (after being paralysed) hip and knee. Then to cap it all had major open brain surgery in 2009 followed by another for MRSA

Deep Brain Surgery for R.L.S.
Do any of the administrators or members know if Doctors are considering D.B.S yet for R.L.S? I bullied my Doctor into giving me a referral 12 mths ago but at the time it was thought that there was not enough information regarding the part of the brain to be worked on and a bit risky if it would work

They stopped my dads warfarin afterr his INR soared from 3.0 to over 10.0 in two days. Now they want to stop his Clexane for biopsies!?
But he has DVT, he cannot walk and is in severe pain when his legs are not elevated. He also has PE in both lungs. Excuse my capital letters and please forgive me my anger, but I TOLD THEM I SUSPECTED DVT IN NOVEMBER AND THEY IGNORED US TILL HE GOT EVEN MORE SICK AND WAS ADMITTED TO HOSPITAL WHERE PE

Did you know that only half of our disease is being treated?
It has long been known that we also lose a lot of our noradrenaline neurons too. Recent research shows that it may be that noradrenaline loss is primary cause of most PD symptoms including the motor ones. It also is looking like it is the locus of dyskinesia, So what does this mean for me? It means you

A little bit miffed....
I have had a very emotional afternoon reading through the blogs questions etc on this site. The emotional roller coaster has taken me through all the emotions that I strive daily to hide. But I have never laugh and cried so hard at the same time as I have today. I just had to post the site to my facebook
