Can starting iron pills/B12 injections delay period?
Hi there, I started taking ferrous fumarate on the 13th November (on doctor's advice) because my serum ferritin had become very low, as it tends to do without supplementation. I started getting every other day B12 injections on the 21st November for the first time, at my GP surgery. My period was due

Private Blood results
I have been on 75mcg of Levothyroxine now for 4 weeks, but still have a majority of the symptoms so I decided to do a private test through medichecks as my doctors will not test for Ft4 or 3. My lasts results I posted was TSH 1.55 on 50mcg. The private results have come back as: TSH 0.431 (0.27 - 4.20

Do I need to take folic acid?
Hi there, I've seen a lot of people say that your folate level should be in the top third of the range while getting B12 injections. Mine, before injections, was 7.0 ng/ml (3.4 - 10.4) which seems right in the middle, so can anyone tell me, should I take folic acid? I'm also on ferrous fumarate because

WARNING about iron supplementation
For nearly 2 years I've been prescribed ferrous fumarate by my GP. Yesterday my consultant rang me and while discussing my thyroid medication also alerted me to the fact that the body can only take-up 15 mg of ferrous fumarate per day. Afterwards I went to check the dose I am taking and it is 280 mg

Endo appt on Thursday - new blood test results after 9 months on Erfa (it was going so well...)
I was diagnosed with an underactive thyorid in 2008. After being on levothyroxine for years, I paid to see a private endocrinologist and switched to Erfa (NDT) in Feb 2016. Had last load of blood tests in May and was feeling pretty good, taking 120 mg of Erfa a day. Now am due for a six-month check-up
