The Change 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
Hi all Been a while since I posted as had to have a Partial
Nephrectomy
in August as I had a tumour on my kidney. I only have this one kidney which already has some damage and lost my other kidney in 1996 following renal Thrombosis when I was diagnosed with APS.

Managing Chronic Kidney Disease: the Acid/Base Balance Approach
I recently had a radical
nephrectomy
due to Renal Cell Carcinoma. My post operative blood chemistry changed dramatically w my eGFR dropping from 70 to 38 with corresponding somewhat dramatic increase in Creatinine, Phosphorus and Potassium levels.

Positive margins
I had a partial
nephrectomy
but my margins returned as positive. I have been getting scans every 3-6 months to catch it when it returns but now insurance is now fighting my scans. Any advice on how to fight insurance and if I can’t get scans then how worried do I need to be that this will return?

After partial

pathology result is renal cells carcinoma, grade 1, t1A, free margins. What kind of follow up I need and for how many years ? This type of cancer may come back again? If yes how can I prevent that?

New to group, wanted to share experience
I went to the ER where I was all but turfed out the door when they found what looked to be mets to my lungs (confirmed with chest CT which caught the top half of a 18cm x 14 cm mass) I had a left radical
nephrectomy
, adrenalectomy, and removal of lymph nodes at the Cleveland Clinic.

(
Nephrectomy
due to complications at birth) My GP reassured me that my drinking alone would not have been the sole contributory factor to my diagnosis of CKD, and told me that blood tests done when I was a teen showed signs of the kidney failing that had only been picked up upon diagnosis.

Surgery
I continued working up until last Friday and on Monday I had a partial
nephrectomy
, here in Kirkcaldy. I’ve never experienced so much pain in my life but I’m through it, and can now resume my life. My surgeon (note the proprietorial wording!)

Looking for Treatment Options
I was recently diagnosed as stage 3 kidney cancer after a radical
nephrectomy
. My oncologist told me that kidney cancer cell didn't respond to chemical therapy and radiation therapy, and at my stage, there is only one target medicine, Sutent, that I can try.

Metastatic Kidney cancer
I've had a partial
nephrectomy
, several radiations and a few surgeries to tackle the spots where it has appeared. I am currently taking Inlyta and dealing with the side effects. I would like to talk with some folks about their experiences and hopefully gain some insight.

Bilateral nephrectomy
Hi Jus a quick question. Has anyone had both their native kidneys removed whether that was because of Polycystic kidneys or anything else. I’m severly hypertensive, had seizures and even been in a coma due to my blood pressure and there is consideration of removing my kidneys but it’s a huge operation

I am a 62 year old female who was diagnosed with kidney cancer last March after a radical
nephrectomy
was performed. Luckily this was found by my primary care doctor after finding microscopic blood in my urine during a complete physical and insisting that I go for a cat scan.

In 2016 my kidney (Bob as we like to call him) was failing, scary tissue had made a blockage, a
nephrectomy
tube became a stent, that has to be exchanged every 3 months. It has been a journey, but it has totally been worth it.
