I was diagnosed last year also. We only did a partial nephrectomy and unfortunately my margins were positive. We decided not to go back in until it comes back but I have scans ever 3-6 months. Seems the more time passes the more anxious I get for every scan. So far no new growth for me.

Most people have scanxiety as I call it. I had stage III with radical then scan at year and found it spread to thyroid, lung and lymph node between lungs. Lots of med and have been No Evidence of Disease for over two years! The advise to you is; make sure they do a full body scan including brain to get a baseline for future scans. Mine was discovered at the year scan as they had only scanned the stomach pelvis area and I had clear margins. You could go your entire life with it not coming back but will most likely have a little anxiety attached to the scans. Good luck.
