Nephrectomy

I’m a 54 year old male who had a radical nephrectomy in June and had my right kidney removed due to cancer. The good news is the cancer was contained to the kidney. I went in with creatinine of 1.47 and after surgery it went as high as 2.4.

I've been doing some thinking. That's a dangerous thing on the best of days. I hate my kidneys. They take up LOTS of room. They cause more pain than they are worth, anymore. I can't eat enough to stay nutrished, at times. My doctors think I can't swallow enough pills in a day. My pulse rings

Hello, I had a radical left nephrectomy end of March this year. No complications. I had a letter which stated: “Pathology was graded as a T3a initially but after re-discussion it is downgraded to pT1a a likeley pathology. I will be on intermediate risk surveillance.

I had a partial nephrectomy (right kidney) last September to remove a cancer; the treatment was successful, and my eGFR is hardly worse now than it was a year ago. So that's the good news. The not so good news is I'm tired most of the time, sleeping badly, and depressed.

Hi APS friends- 2 years ago I underwent a partial nephrectomy to remove a large (2 inch in diameter) tumor in my kidney. Pathology showed that I have/had clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC). Throughout my life small tumors have been found in different places in my body, but all benign.

I ask for annual bloods due to my previous nephrectomy and Hyper- Parathyroids disease. I had noticed my platelets numbers rising over the last few years but when I mentioned this fact to the GP then, I was told they were still within what was acceptable, even tho' over 450,000.

I had a nephrectomy a year ago and my kidney function is still recovering although well. Hoping I get a reply today but they don't always respond straight away understandably. Just feeling even more anxious now. Common side effects vomiting and diarrhea. Won't take any until they respond.

hi I’m just after a bit of advice I had my right kidney removed 4 weeks ago it was removed robotically and took over 7 hours due to the size of a non cancerous tumour. I had 4 small incisions and one large one lower down which is quite big! My tummy is still very swollen and sore. Is this normal? I

Just want to know what’s what and hopefully it will just be monitored for now 🙏 Just over a year since I had my partial nephrectomy for a kidney tumour so praying I get a year off any more treatment 🤞

Having been through a lot medically including a bilateral nephrectomy prior to transplant, I am overwhelmed at the possibility of carrying my own child. This was something I thought I would never have the chance to do.

2023, suddenly my right eye was totally blind for 30 minutes went to the ER immediately and my CBC showed a high platelets caused clot in my eye, the hospital admitted me and started brain and abdomen CT scan showed accidentally a 3.5cm malignant tumor on my right kidney , within a week I had a Nephrectomy

I had a partial nephrectomy last Feb and all is well. No further indication of any spread. Thankfully it was a low grade small tumour but I am still considered high risk.When I got the ‘all clear for another year’ I was soo relieved but then the nurse said the dreaded ‘but’ word.

My anxiety is related to whether a nephrectomy will have a big detrimental effect on my remaining kidney function. Does anyone have experience of similar situation?

I had a full left nephrectomy and they had to remove the adrenal gland as well. Unfortunately in recovery my adrenal artery opened back up (they said they don't know what happened) and I'm lucky to be alive.

I have a 5 cm Tumor in my right kidney I have to have a nephrectomy next week any advice on recovery

They think due to location of tumor a successful surgery for partial nephrectomy is unlikely and entire kidney would have to go. Thanks in advance for advice and help.

kidney cancer being treated with Nephrectomy July 2023 he has developed gout recently and has never enjoyed alcohol. Trying to eat no high purine foods but internet suggestions is conflicting. Does anyone know whether this will go after Nephrectomy.
