After partial nephrectomy pathology result is renal cells carcinoma, grade 1, t1A, free margins.
What kind of follow up I need and for how many years ?
This type of cancer may come back again?
If yes how can I prevent that?

The guidelines can be found in NCCN.org for kidney cancer and AUA.
Wow, that is great results as far as cancer goes. The chance that you will live WITHOUT cancer showing it's ugly head again is GREAT! I don't know how you will be followed in the future, perhaps surveillance and maybe scans once a year or once every two or three years for a little while? I started off at stage 3, grade 4 and was scanned at my year anniversary. Your doctor will advise you.
Sorry you joined the "club" but I think you are a associate member now. Great job on catching it early!
Thanx for ur answer
But I have another question: grade one in rcc means little chance for cancer to come back? Or grade doesn’t determine that?
There are lots of factors that go into cancer coming back. The grading is one of the factors. Here is information from the American Cancer Society website: "Renal cell cancers are usually graded on a scale of 1 through 4. Grade 1 renal cell cancers have cells that look a lot like normal kidney cells. These cancers usually grow and spread slowly and tend to have a good prognosis (outlook). At the other extreme, grade 4 renal cell cancer looks quite different from normal kidney cells."
This is what I was told by my Doctor as well. There are some things that could help, not smoking, losing weight and it could not hurt to exercise and eat better.
