Hi, I'm Dianna, 56 yrs with metastatic kidney cancer. I've had a partial nephrectomy, several radiations and a few surgeries to tackle the spots where it has appeared. I am currently taking Inlyta and dealing with the side effects. I would like to talk with some folks about their experiences and hopefully gain some insight.

Metastatic Kidney cancer
I’m sorry , I don’t have any experience with that but will definitely be praying for you 😀😀😀
Hi Dianna, sorry to hear about your serious medical problems. I also am a kidney patient from a young age. I was born with a Wilms Tumor which was diagnosed when I was one year of age. I had the affected kidney removed, chemo and radiation. I was healthy until the age of 30 when I was diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma. That left me with 🅾 kidneys. I was immediately introduced to hemodialysis. This was the worse 3 years of my life. I got a kidney transplant from my father. It functioned 23 years and in 2 days the kidney died. I now find myself on dialysis again. I soon will be evaluated for a new kidney. I am actually grieving the lost of my transplanted kidney.
I am suffering severe depression and anxiety. I cry almost from the time I go to sleep. Sleep is the only time where I am truly free myself from hospitals, depression, sadness and thoughts of death.
Enough about me. You wanted some advice. One of the first things I would recommend is to to get is one doctor who can guide all the others.
Do not be quite. Let the doctors know you want to be an active in all aspects of care. Believe it or not this does to have a calming on many doctors. You can ask the head nurse to arrange a conference of as many of you Doctors as you want if you if you have questions or are getting to many varying options.
Do you have a support at home? Is so don't hesitate to give them an assignment such as cooking a meal or getting something take out for you to eat. In theses times people want to do something but most are paralyzed with fear. If you belong to any social groups make use of them.
Make up a poster with needs you have from simple task like drying dishes to mowing the lawn. I wish I has done this sooner. J
I have many more suggestions. But you would get tired of reading all of them all. I wish you a complete healing. Thanks 🌷 Stay in touch
Hi, and I feel your pain! Hopefully we can get a group going to talk about what we are going thru. I've been on Inlyta for 5 months now and compared to Sutent which I took for 3 months prior to a surgery, it's definitley better. I just need to know more about the side effects and if my experiences are "normal" or not.
