Had a blood test and CRP levels 63 mg so yes I was right. A GP texted me to say that he was prescribing 15mg for 14 days. What

cataract surgery and prednisolone dose
This morning I had my eyes tested. This time last year I was told I had the beginnings of a cataract in my left eye, due to prednisolone. Today I was told that, thanks to prednisolone, the cataract is now ready for surgery. I said I didn't want it yet, because I am trying to get my prednisolone dose

Missed my dose . What should I have done
Hi everyone, I am on 2mg of prednisolone. Lat week, I forgot to take my dose. I felt fine and didn’t realise until the next morning. I took 4mg that day to be on the safe sides d then back to 2mg the next day. Two questions. Should I have taken 4mg and does this mean my adrenals are working? Thank you

Timings of medications, help please.
Can anyone help me with the timings for the following medications which I need to take each day apart from the Risedronate once a week, please? I have spoken to the pharmacy and they were not particularly helpful. Levothyroxine and Risedronate both have to be taken on an empty stomach I believe. Not

Rheumatologist advices no reduction of prednisolone while adrenal glands not working and has issued emergency hydrocortisone kit
I've had PMR since October 2020 and managed to get down to 2.5mg of prednisolone in February 2023. But after a flare, I had to raise it to 5mg and have been pain-free since then. I started on methotrexate weekly injections (15mg) in December 2023, with the hope of being able to reduce the prednisolone

Spring COVID Booster
Well, here we are again. I have just received an email from NHS regarding the spring booster for Covid which says that according to my medical records I may be immunosuppressed and if so am invited for a booster. Why are my limbs painful after coming off Pred?

GCA and Ocular TIA (mini stroke)??
I was diagnosed with GCA four and a half years ago , am on my third relapse and am tapering (now 10mg prednisolone and weekly Actemra). At the onset I had severe headaches and a dark 'veil' over half of my left eye which went after about 5 minutes and the opthalmologist put me on 60 mg prednisolone

Spring Covid booster
Have had text from my surgery offering me a Spring Booster for Covid. Have been on 4.5mg Prednisolone for a couple of months now. Would my immune system still be classed as compromised on such a low dose?

stopping Abiratrerone
I was diagnosed with PC in Jan 2001 with Gleason of 4+ and a PSA that never got above 10. From a PSMA scan, I have bone metasteses in skull, ribs, backbone, hips, pelvic bone. WE believe that in my case PSA has never been a very useful measure. I have been taking Abiraterone, Prostap and prednisolone

Is it a flare or not??
In August I will have had PMR for 4 years but I still struggle knowing whether I’m flaring or not. I have trouble reducing my Prednisolone dose despite doing .5 mg reductions over a 4 week period. I was on 10mg in January 2024 and three weeks ago had got down to 8.5/9 mg on alternate days as I’ve been

Skin sensitivity after stopping Prednisolone
Hi, I stopped Pred in November after approx 20months - starting dose was 20 mg. I noticed last summer my arms were very sensitive to mild sunlight and I came up in a red rash after thinking I was sitting in the shade. And I recently was in the garden doing some pruning and my face and chest looked like

Pred makes me dizzy
Is that normal? I only take prednisolone so there's nothing else to blame. I feel fine every morning, no dizziness or wobbliness, until a few minutes after I take the pred during breakfast and then I have to move about very carefully for several hours. Blood pressure's fine. I don't think it's adrenal
