You'd need to go to a compounding pharmacy that can make it to suit you but I'm not sure it's even possible to make it with no excipients as the active ingredient is tiny... not all excipients are bad

In the UK Roseway Labs

Have you tried it with them?

No, I'm ok if I avoid mannitol, lactose and acacia so thankfully they are available mainstream

Regenallotment has used their compounding service, I can't remember the details but seem to remember rice flour was involved? I'm sure she'll get back to you

I have used Roseway Labs for T3, I had one with just cellulose powder and the capsule itself, but they can use something to suit you, I think TiggerMe is right they do rice powder etc . Give them a ring and talk through the options. They are super helpful. To get a prescription you will need a consultation with their prescriber (short phone call) and send in recent blood test results. But before you do that you can ask lots of questions for free by email or phone 🌱

apparently I can’t tolerate different types of cellulose. We already established that it’s hypromellose, but microcrystalline cellulose is a big suspect currently too. And my cytomel has it. I have a huge problem raising my cytomel despite supporting adrenals. Whatever I do raising cytomel is throwing me off. I’m in the Netherlands- can’t find compounding pharmacies here. I reached out to France now, they at first said they can’t, but they are going to look for options and will get back to me..

I will contact this UK pharmacy. Maybe something will work out with them… I wonder how much can it cost ..

There prices seem very reasonable well worth a chat or perhaps they list where they will ship too on their website? If you have a friend in England perhaps they could forward them on?? rosewaylabs.com/

I'm assuming they can avoid cellulose if they make tablets rather than capsules?

yes, that's what i'm looking for, a pharmacy which can prepare T3 with rice flour. I am getting my HC capsules compounded from Belgian pharmacy, but they have no access to t3 there. Apparently also not the french pharmacy, i am waiting till they check their sources. And I will check with the UK pharmacy you told about. I do have a friend which goes there often so it would be not a big problem to get it i think.

Good luck!

Roseway will likely know some EU compounding pharmacies and be able to recommend. We have a lot of Polish settled in my region and they all go ‘home’ for their medical appointments. So you might want to try Germany/Poland too.

Cost wise when I took Roseway T3 it was £75 GBP for 3 months supply. (I now have Thybon Henning from them).

Receptura is a compounding pharmacy in Germany - Frankfurt. Maybe they can help.

The physical amount of cytomel/liothyronine in a dose (whether 5, 25, 50 or 100 micrograms) is so incredible small, I don't think it is remotely feasible to prepare it without some excipient(s).

Of the order of one single small crystal of standard sugar. Towards invisible.

An average grain of sugar is around half a milligram - 500 micrograms.

yes that's understandable that some filler is needed, i meant to compound it without the standard excipients. sorry for not typing more clearly. I would use some flour instead of cellulose. and gelatine capsule, as i'm reacting to hypromellose capsules

Some medicines - such as Roma liothyronine capsules - say that you can remove the contents of the capsules.

They are made with maize starch and magnesium stearate. (And shell ingredients - based on gelatin.)

Not sure if you can access this:

mhraproducts4853.blob.core....

There is also the IBSA Liotir product (Italy only, so far as I know) which is a liquid containing Ethanol and glycerol.

Interesting… probably I could get them only from Greece as it’s a Greek producer, right?

Just now received a call from the biggest pharmacy from France - they say France restricted them to compound t3 a couple of years. But it seems to me I found a dutch pharmacy which says they can compound… will try first with them, and will keep a UK pharmacy and this Greek option as a backup.

Thank you for your help!

No - Roma capsules are only available in the UK! Despite being manufactured in Greece.

I don't think they have been licensed anywhere else. (But it is very tough keeping track of such things.)

oh interesting, thank you for clarifying. have you heard any experiences by any chance? And is it commonly available in any pharmacy in UK?

Roma should be available from any pharmacy - but would require a prescription.

Fairly unusually, Roma sell on a list price basis - £55 for 5 and 20 micrograms, £65 for 10 micrograms, for 28 capsules. I do not know what would be charged by a pharmacy for a private prescription.
