Struggling
Hi all, I am a brittle asthmatic, admitted on Monday after a weekend of struggling. I increased my steroid and nebuliser (which is usually only for emergency use) before seeing the GP on Monday morning. She sent me in to the hospital (straight to the ward, no A&E). Fast forward to today. Other than

Coping with Asthma
My best advice that I’d give others who are living with asthma: - long hot showers help a lot, relieves stress from having asthma and helps my airways - eat clean healthy foods rich in antioxidants, and foods good for inflammation - i always carry my
nebulizer
and inhalers on me or close to me to reduce

Begging for help
Hi, I’m 33 and from Melbourne, Australia I have always been the sick kid for as long as I can remember. At age 18 months I was diagnosed with severely low playlets and required transfusions. Luckily this rectified as I got older. Growing up I had asthma, allergies, hay fever and allergies to animals

I’m going home!!! 🎉🎉🎉
Whilst I’m a little more twitchy today, and didn’t fully pick my PF back up until after my morning meds, I have successfully gone 24hrs with no nebs!!! The docs and consultant came in, looked at me and said ‘well you’re looking very happy and proud with yourself - are you ready to go home?’ - YES! Yes

That was a celebration picture!
But the weather is tempestuous and things are hard..going to hospital to see Mum, so brave, my little fighter with half a toe all stitched up. She wants to come back with me this time. I’m trying to get things organised. We’ll see if she still wants to once she is home. I’m congested more than ever.

First severe asthma attack (long post sorry)
On Saturday I had a really bad asthma attack. I’ve had a couple before that I thought were bad but with each one it seems to get worse. Although, thankfully they’re pretty spread apart. On Saturday I couldn’t breathe. My chest was really tight. I took 19 puffs of salbutamol, was taken out of my work

General anaesthetics for gallbladder removal and asthma.
I saw him today and he is suggesting I start a course of prednisone a few days before the op and that I am put on a
nebulizer
prior to the op. My question is. Has anyone who suffers from bad asthma had this operation and how was it handled. I am 72yrs old.

Hello
Last year I had around 18 severe asthma attacks that required paramedics out, a
nebulizer
treatments, and at least half of them involved a trip to the hospital. I'm on 4 different inhalers and 4 tablets currently.

What I wish I had known (and what I have learnt through trial and error!)
Asthma is a learning curve so here’s what I wish I had known from the beginning! In no particular order: 1. Asthma is different for everyone. Obvious now, but starting out to me asthma was asthma - a blue pump fixed it and a brown pump prevented it. Now I know all the different types and severity, and
