Air Quality has it affected you today?
I have been out today for the first time since February and what a day I picked - well I didn't I rely on my daughter and she works term time so I have to take what I can when I can. We went to a Garden Centre - couldn't breathe not just the air but the pollen. So we then went to Ikea and it was great

Somewhat belated introduction!
I probably should have introduced myself before posting about the woes of my asthma and commenting…sorry :) I am 17yo, biologically female but identify as male. Which kind of sucks but hey, that's life. I have 'hayfever', eczema and asthma (you would never have known that, would you?), and I suffer

Advice
Hi Trying to get some help. Last 2 years I have been struggling with breathlessness. Last July I went to the doctors about it who said she would arrange some tests. Whilst waiting for these tests I ended up one night at a&e on a nebuliser cause I couldn't breath. They did a chest X-ray. And the doctor

Any Answers To My Problem?
Does anyone have any bright ideas about how to get rid of the lime-scale that builds up on the plastic tube which goes into the water container on my concentrator...at the moment I rub it off with my fingers, but that must be germy even if my hands are clean...the bottom of the little tube has a tiny

Asthma and nebulisers
Hi, I have had very difficult asthma all my life. A few months ago I caught pneumonia and while I got slightly better I have never really recovered. Over the last couple of weeks my inhalers seemed to stop helping me completely. Unfortunately I don't respond to steroid pred no matter how high the dose

Life After Near Death
Hi everyone, I'm posting to ask for your help as I process what happened over the last month. I had my first asthma hospital admission this month - which came out of the blue. After being in hospital 2 days I deteriorated and had a life- threatening attack. It was taking so much energy to breathe

That's So Not Fair...!
I did ask ever so nicely and I can't have one...a longer tube thing for my oxygen. Apparently it's because the converter has a humidifier attached and that won't work if the tubing is any longer than it is at the moment...not much point in arguing about it. It's all very well being practically tethered

Constant coughing
Has anyone got any tips on dealing with a constant dry cough? I've had a bit of an ordeal with my 9 year old son over the past two days. He has mild asthma, we've had sketchy advice about how to deal with it, one nurse suggested it might not even be asthma. He's on ventolin and clenil but we stopped

asthma attack but good oxygen sats?
Can you have good oxygen sats and still be having an asthma attack? Yesterday i had surgery on my throat and when i came round my breathing was very difficult. I had a very definite wheeze on exhalation and that in itself is quite unusual for me. It was really hurting to breathe but the nurses were

Hi, I'm new and looking for advice. sorry for the long post in advance! I've had asthma now for about 8 years. For the majority of this time it has been poorly controlled due to a number of reasons. Son in ICU
Hiya, I'm not sure why I feel the need to write this, as I'm not asking a question or after answers. I just wanted somewhere to write my thoughts and experience of being the mom of a 22 year old in ICU. He has today been discharged home and I haven't shed a tear until now, when I'm on my own and reflecting

Coughing up mucus!! (Sorry!!)
Soooo, Maddie is now 6 and has finally learnt how to cough up!! Hurrah!! We have struggled for years to try and clear her chest, using saline nebs and physio predominantly. She has now realised how to cough up. She's really struggling at school though as she says she can't do it there and quite often

Morning wonderful friends. Blown away by the love and support from you all. Thank you everyone who’s posted or messaged and special thanks to Ruby who started it off. You have really lifted my mood. Small progress on sick front though I can now walk about 12 tottering baby paces and don’t need help

Problems with asthma advice needed
Hi, I've just joined this forum and would be grateful for some advice on my asthma. I have had asthma for 22 years but I've only had 1 hospital admission in that time as usually my asthma is well controlled, but concern is that I had some pain on the left hand side of my chest which triggered a cough

Looking For Grandpa
Spent most of the afternoon trying to find a grand-parent...makes a change from rooting about under the cushions for the car-keys or my best scissors I suppose...actually I keep my best scissors so well hidden from Himself that I once had to buy another pair 'cos I couldn't remember where I'd put the
