Castrate Resistant
My husband currently is taking casodex and Lupron. He did 6 cycles of Docetaxel last Summer. If his PSA starts to rise on Casodex and Lupron does that mean his PC would be considered castrate resistant? Thanks for the info.

Hi all. My father (76 years old) is on casodex monotherapy. This is quite common theraphy in our parts of the world - they use it untill it works, than they add Lupron. He Gleason is 7 (4+3, tumor present in 10% of tissue evaluated (it was discovered during TURP procedure, stage 2b) and has been on Casodex

CRPC & Avodart [Dutasteride].
New study below. Some may recall that I'm in favor of shutting off all escape paths while on ADT - e.g. via Zytiga, Casodex, Simvastatin & Avodart. If you are closing the door, close the windows too. The conventional view is that since 5alpha-reductase converts testosterone [T] to dihtdrotestosterone

Zytiga+Zoladex instead of Taxotere
Good day everyone, Just wish to share with you this update.. I sought a second opinion on whether Taxotere was the most appropriate course of action after casodex and Zoladex which reduced PSA only to a certain level and stopped to drive it down. The second oncologist advised me to do Zytiga and

Low Testosterone Level
I'm stage 4 close to 5 years since devinci removal, lupron, casodex and xgeva, PSA under 0.02. Question - my testosterone level is "3" which sounds good but I can't get a response I understand on its relationship with PSA, etc. Can someone kindly explain the significance and hopefully good news on

I'm still going strong!
Hi everyone, I though a positive note might help. I was diagnosed Oct 2013, PSA 620. Two of 12 biopsy cores cancerous. Gleasons, 3 and 4. 4 and 4. Widespread bony metastases to spinal column, ribcage, pelvis. Smaller lesions in humerus and femur and skull. After a few weeks on Casodex, changed to Abiraterone

Eligar user
Hi. I'm new here. Would appreciate your input. I found this site informative. Thanks. Just got my Eligar shot 3 days ago, along with a prescription from 50 mg of casodex. Really got dizzy last night into today. Went and got some drammamine to offset the seasick feeling. Is it important to keep taking

Radiation with Chemo
I'm on lupron, docetaxel and casodex. Start my third chemo next Tuesday. Started to get bone pain in my right scapular and asked the oncologist about radiation to deal with that. He said radiation shouldn't be used with some varieties of chemo. Does anyone know why this would be?

Switched DMD fron Avonex to Extavia. Overall tolerating change pretty well. The biggest side effect is injection site turns vivid red, no heat, no itching, no swelling. Is this a normal side effect?

chemo 'feeds' bone met tumors?!!: "Chemotherapy induces JAG1 expression in osteoblasts, promoting chemoresistance in bone metastases"
Does anyone have access to this article? It sounds like the chemo, Docetaxel, which my husband finished last July, may not have helped the tumors in his spine and instead were 'feeding' them?!!! http://cancerdiscovery.aacrjournals.org/content/early/2017/12/21/2159-8290.CD-RW2017-239 Targeting JAG1

Looking to be aggressive, but in the right way?
I was dx in Feb, 2016 with advanced pca with a gleason score of 8 and PSA 8.8. My left seminal vesicle was invaded, along with 2 bone mets (femur and hip), and suspected pelvic nodal involvement with two nodes being affected (both approximately one centimeter each). I began treatment March with Casodex

Jevtana [Cabazitaxel] & Androgen Status.
New Dutch study below. Jevtana is a taxane (as is Taxotere), & was approved by the FDA for men with CRPC in 2010. Typically, in castrate-resistant PCa [CRPC], the cancer remains androgen-sensitive & has found alternative sources. For instance, there is a potential pathway that produces DHT (dihydrotestosterone
