My husband currently is taking casodex and Lupron. He did 6 cycles of Docetaxel last Summer. If his PSA starts to rise on Casodex and Lupron does that mean his PC would be considered castrate resistant? Thanks for the info.

Castrate Resistant
My Fathers oncologists said they don't use that term anymore. Rather they say Casodex resistant as another anti-androgen might still do the job.
Yes Blair if your hubands testosrerone is castrate(less than 20)yes it is then considered castrate resistant. Not to worry though there is still zytiga and xanti to throw at the beast. Should work! All the best for you and your husband.

This is really a good question that I haven't gotten a clear answer to from my MO either. My assumption is that I was technically castrate resistant as soon as my PSA started to rise while I was on Lupron alone. I believe that is the original definition. But I added Casodex (bicalutamide) and my PSA is going down again. So I don't quite understand what my official status is. As I have not evidence of further metastasis, and my PSA was increasing while I was castrate, I think I will be eligible for the new drug approved yesterday, Erleada (apalutamide).
