Well started the new year with new healthcare thru Mountain Health Coop. Just received Notice of Denied Medication/ Aubagio. Have been on it for ten months on other insurance, no problems. Hate going thru this again π€¬ Thru the years I have been on Copaxone, Avonex, Ribif, Tysabri, Tecfidera, and last ten months Aubagio. Well I guess I will start the appeal and go from there π€·πΌββοΈ Wish me luck and prayers ππΎπΆπ©πKen

New Insurance 2018

This must be a running theme this year my insurance is acting a complete A**hole as well. I have been on my MS meds as well as my others since 2015 and now they are trying to tell me I haven't tried anything else.
I have to say I lost my cool and snapped on the dept that handles the approvals.
I could see if I was with a new insurance company but I'm not. They just changed their name.
Here is the funny part of this as I was typing this the insurance company called called to rectify the situation.
I hope it works out in your favor. Be sure to stress you would have an adverse reaction if you are not approved. You must always give the insurance a dooms day story to get them to come to your side.
Sorry for your trouble. Insurance is getting so complicated. I got a notice of 63 meds mine no longer covered. Lucky they were only name brand . All of the generic brands of them were covered. Thank God my plegridy wasnβt on the list.
Good luck on your appeals

Wow! As a Brit I cannot get over how powerful insurance in medicines is in the USA. . These are medicines we all need and an insurance company does not know better than docs. Or am I just being thick and naieve π―π€π€ππππππππ
I do wish you luck and my prayers are with you. For me it's my oxycontin for pain. Insurance definatly makes demands like they are the doctor and know what's best for us. I also have a problem every year with provigil for fatigue. First, I had to reduce my dose to fit insurance requirements. Then it continues to be a battle each year with them stating it's not an approved drug for fatigued. So I do sympathize with you. Like we need the agravation!! ...FiddleStyx
Kenu What a hassle! Best wishes on your appeal. Let us know how things are going.
Best to you with the appeal. Perhaps Check with the makers of Aubagio if they have assistance program. So far Iβm just dealing with the $$increase of my insurance. As a retired underwriter, I suggest always keep detailed records, past policies, journals of WWW. Who, when, where( phone, in person, Internet) Did you know you can request a copy of Internet chats or copy and paste the conversation into a word document!? We all need to be proactive for ourselves. So glad we have this forum to help each other ππ
Get in touch with MS One to One and the can help you with funding if you meet the criteria. You should have their number from when you went on Aubiago. They have names of funding programs. They were a big help to me.
If you are on Medicare you can go to Panfoundation.org as of 2 weeks ago they had funding available for Aubiago.
Good luck.
Intresting twist on the One to One assistance this year. My insurance co. Pacific Source, which had accepted co-pay assistance and counted it against the deductible last year won't do that this year. I have to pay for the Aubagio this month but One to One will reimburse my when I fax in the receipt. But that's lot of cash to have to come up with on short notice.
Right on itβs about $6,000.00 a month. Aubagio will help out if insurance kicks in. Just have to wait for appeal and go from there. My only income is SSDI. Thankful for ACA or might not even have insurance π€·πΌββοΈ Thanks for replies ππKen
