Probiotics and NASH/NAFLD
Has anyone experienced health benefits of over-the-counter probiotics for cirrhosis? Like some other information, for every study that finds there are benefits there’s an equal number advising not the take them because they can induce additional fatty liver complications.

NADH instead of NR, NMN, or niacin?
NADH might be better than our other options. Emphasis on might. Please share any knowledge on this! https://www.enada.com/

Dehydroascorbic acid: Could orange juice oxidised in the fridge overnight be an important weapon against Parkinson's?
Dehydroascorbic acid is the oxidised and reversible form of ascorbic acid or vitamin C. It can protect the brain and reduce stroke mortality, due to its ability to cross the blood-brain barrier, whereas vitamin C or ascorbic acid cannot easily do so. In one study it was proposed as a possible treatment

Insomnia
Hi Like many suffer badly from severe insomnia, due presumably to NAFLD /
NASH
I suffer, the best advice I can offer is meditation, its non invasive & the mindfulness version can be FOC on NHS. I also have taken the ™ course which I use. Not a cure but with perseverance a great help.

Confused about fibroscan and lft
I went for a fibroscan 2 weeks ago and was given a result of 328 and 20.3 and was told I would be ideal for their
NASH
research. A few days later one of the doctors phoned to say that my blood tests showed my liver was functioning fine and it was too good for the programme.

My husband has a bad rash
My husband (64) had
NASH

I have had 3 full Moderna shots. Last being in July. I am do for a 4th now, and wondering if I should get the Pfizer this time or J&J or stick with Moderna. Thoughts?

Help me understand
The study doc said it looks like
NASH
at 3 or 4, but FibroScan tends to run high. Liver biopsy likely will confirm
NASH
3. (Now is that equivalent to cirrhosis?) Could we finally find the “cause” by the liver biopsy? Could something like lupus be a culprit?

Niacin, NR, NMN, NAD+,NADH: what is the effect on mitochondria and is it beneficial to PD?
I’m working on understanding the process by which niacin ultimately increases NAD and if supplementing with NMN, a more immediate precursor is more advantageous or perhaps NADH is better?

Worrying of the unknown
I was originally told I had cirrhosis, and after my fibroscan the technician indicated that there was significant lesions consistent with
NASH
. I have an MRI next week and then they mentioned a biopsy. They are not good at following up and my follow up appt is not until July.

Biopsy results guidance
The biopsy confirms the fibroscan findings of cirrhosis and confirmed the clinical diagnosis of cirrhosis being secondary to
NASH
" I have a follow-up telephone appointment for February 10th but looking for some advice as to what this all means?

Are you interested in helping educate others about this disease? You might consider this opportunity
A good friend of ours is the head of patient communications for one of the companies working to develop a therapy for NAFLD/
NASH
. They have had good results in clinical trials so far and we are hopeful that they succeed. One of their goals is to help educate people about this disease.

Fibroscan request 4 years after transplant
Good Morning My husband had a liver transplant in 2017 due to
NASH
cirrhosis. He recently had a diagnosis of asbestosis and emphysema. He is a type 2 diabetic and this seems to be causing him problems and is out of control.

New Diagnosis
He tried a draw me a diagram of fatty liver disease stages and seemed to suggest
NASH
stage 2 based on the above results. I really don’t know how to deal with this, or understand how serious it is. I started on exercise bike the next day, changed diet and aim to loose 5% weight.
