Are scientists any closer to a medication for NASH or is it the same answer of 5 years away? I’m in the US and was told Covid backed everything up.

Medication for NASH?
Hi Obssessive69
I did not know anyone was looking at creating medication for NASH. I just assumed diet, exercise etc..
But that would be a breakthrough wouldn't it. A medication that breaks down fat inside liver tissue, that would be worth billions.
I need to do some reading, it sounds interesting.
Take care
Dave
I’m on a clinical trial for Nash. It’s in its third phase and results look very promising. I know they are still recruiting. They are a United States company called Madrigal pharmaceutical. They are trialing worldwide. I am based in the UK. Good luck
Wyn
How did you apply for this?
I happened to see a clinic looking for possible recruits on the internet. They were offering fibroscans to find possible candidates. There was then quite a rigorous set of blood tests, mri, dexa scan and liver biopsy to see if you are eligible. Only then if everything showed the degree of Nash required did you get accepted on the trial.
Oh, thank you
I had Nash 7 months ago. I complete reversed it by losing about 120 pounds. With clean eating and eating exercise, your liver can heal!
Hi Obsessive69,
I came across these potential new therapies for liver disease:

It's not specifically for NASH but sounds very exciting!
Thank you everyone. I am in the US but enjoy this site very much.
