Disappointment with DNA consultant
I went to my appointment with the inherited metabolic diseases consultant, after waiting over a year for DNA tests, and having appointment altered because he was on sabbatical. Quite apprehensive because he'd told me "there's always a story" and because this is the last port of call for me in

The Cause Of Vitamin B-6 Toxicity (Updated)
So the moral of this story is if you are supplementing vitamin B6, do not take it as pyridoxine, which is frequently what you get in
. Take pyridoxal-5-phosphate (P5P) instead. It is readily available as a supplement.

Low Iron - Are my symptoms normal?
From the end of November last year, until the first week of January this year I was experiencing a weird feeling of dizziness, and generally feeling ‘out of it’. I went to my doctor, and they diagnosed an inner ear infection as they weren’t 100% sure, which required no treatment. My symptoms disappeared

HAPPY DAYS, and rainbows
It's been 2 month's (knock on wood) since I had a really server bowel pain from my ibs c. I'm taking a multivitamin without iron, iron will just make things worse trust me. But this multivitamin has magnesium in it which seems like that top of polyethylene glycol and the low fod map diet helps with

Can folic acid cause a raise in platelets?
The only thing I had changed in my lifestyle was that I started taking pregnancy
multivitamins
with folic acid. I stopped taking the vitamins and worked on getting my platelets back down for the past year. They’ve been in the 600s for the past 6 months.

Waiting to do next set of liver enzyme tests, obsessing about everything!
New to this group and want to thank all of you who contribute your stories, it’s been eye opening to say the least. I will do my next round of liver enzyme tests next week, which will be 3.5 weeks since the first tests. I will be traveling for 1 month shortly thereafter, that is why it wasn’t scheduled

Supplements/Alternative medicines to take?
I'm wondering if there is anything else I can take with my dosage such as
multivitamins
, any singular vitamins, curcumin, zinc, selenium or alternatives like lemon balm, bugleweed etc. Does anyone have any advice on what they take so as to not interfere with my dosage? Thanks so much!

Hydroxocobalamin injection frequency, and are patches a recommended/viable addition to my needs? Your recommendations, sources, experiences?
Hi all, I am B12 deficient (which was initially suspected in December 2018, following declining health), with prior 6 month history of worsening peripheral neuropathy, worsening exercise intolerance, syncope and frequent pre-syncope and long standing (at least until I started on B12 replacement in December

Update - 8 weeks of injections and some new symptoms
Hi, I am having injections from last 8 weeks and have seen improvements in some areas. Blurred vision has improved and so does night vision. But shimmering effect is still there. Eyes try to move around the focused object and it feels like words have slight to and fro motion. This is probably the strangest

Vitamins and Minerals
I am 4 weeks into my Pred, currently at 15mg and about to drop to 12.5 tomorrow. I refused to take Alendronic Acid mainly because of the terrible potential side effects, and have decided to up my Vitamin and Mineral levels. At the moment I take Calcium, Vitamin D3, Magnesium and K2 plus a general multivitamin
