I feel very ashamed among people or friends because they taunts me about my weight and make joke about it. I can't understand why yhis is happening to me. I take proper diet including vitamin fibre etc but I'm unable to gain weight. I've seen people with ckd having healthy body or fatty. But in my case it is opposite. When I talked to my doc they just ask me to take multivitamin and duphalac syrup which is not helping. Plz help me guys I want you suggestions.

HI Teacher,

No one should put up with body shamming. No one. I have the opposite issue of being a large person of size. I do not tolerate people making fun or commenting on my body. It is none of their business. Unfortunately, people feel it is their business and that they have the right to comment when people do not conform to the media standard of what is acceptable for weight...big or small. And the culture accepts this bias and allows for prejudiced because people do not say anything to the rude and uncalled for comments. We need to educate people on what is acceptable and not.

It is up to us to say something to people who do make comments so they learn. Next time someone says something to you, say" that is rude and not acceptable." It will embarrass them (hopefully). Don't make a joke of it either. They may say they are trying to help you....but they aren't really. They are judging you. Stop allowing it.

Why should you suffer at the hands of rude people. You deserve better.

You should try to see a dietician. They can help you with eating foods that will be good for you. And if you do not gain weight, well, that's your business.

The body has a set point that it likes to be at. My is pretty high and trying to push past it is extremely hard. That is why dieting is so incredibly difficult. My mother was tiny and could eat anything and she never gained weight. And it was not like she was very active either. It was just her body type.

So chin up. Tell your friends to mind their own business. Look in the mirror and be grateful for the miracle the body truly is. If you love yourself, people will see that and respect it.

I would suggest rather than blaming your self about your size i would find new friends as anyone that taunts you and makes fun of your weight or any other aspect of you is certainly not someone I would consider a friend. Especially if you have already told them you have health issues. I have been big all my life despite eating normally and exercising. That is just the way my body is and I am certainly not going through life taking notice of anyone that finds my size funny. I totally agree with bassetmommer. Brilliantly put.
