More exercise can reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
Hi everyone, I bet lots of people feel if only they knew now before developing type 2 diabetes that a few simple steps could literally have turned things around and prevented type2 D in the first instance. I think as well as monitoring blood glucose levels its important for diabetics to improve their

Cholesterol
I'm currently trying to lose weight and my GP has told me my cholesterol is slightly raised. I don't know the exact numbers. All the conventional wisdom is that we should eat low fat foods to lower it but they are often processed and/or full of sugar. I guess my question is, has anyone here actually

Returning newbie
Hi all I ran marathons 30 yrs ago, with good times, but a desk job, children and retirement have taken their toll. Add in sleep apnoea and weight issues with type 2 diabetes and I'm pretty knackered. But I can come back from this; just need time and a bit of motivation and application. So, more later

What's your ACTUAL risk of heart disease?
MikePollard recently posted a video on the LCHF forum that really deserves a wider audience, especially since we've had a lot of posts recently from people worried about their cholesterol. https://youtu.be/t8njzjSIybk It's possibly not the best video on the subject, but it's describing a test called

How much fat do we actually need?
There are some on this forum who think they need to eat a high-fat diet. There are others, like myself, who eat a predominantly low-fat diet. So let me ask how much fat is in your diet? Can you give an idea is terms of either weight or calories per day? Do you think that is enough? Why is it enough

Making Human Foie Gras – T2D 20
Because of an atricle I read in the news paper I Googled "Foie Gras". there is a lot to learn from this!!! Fatty liver is a duck or goose is known as Foie Gras. But humans get it too. Here it’s known as fatty liver disease or non alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). How do we get NASH? It all comes down

Blood test - fasting required?
I have a blood test arranged for 10am tomorrow - I suspect hypothyroidism. Is it worthwhile fasting before the appointment or does it not make a difference? GP hasn't advised anything but I want to make sure my results are as accurate as possible
