Hi Shayphillip5 and welcome to this forum. I was in exactly your position in Nov 2017 when my GP told me We needed to talk about my weight when I was feeling better. I went home and decided there and then that I was going to do something about my weight immediately not wait till I was feeling better. A couple of months before that conversation I had been told by him that my cholesterol was high and he said to cut out all caffeine, not even drink decaf tea or decaf coffee. Since then I have never had a coffee and started drinking redbush tea - tetley snake it as do tesco themselves but I prefer redbush. Some cafes sell it as loose leaf Rooibos tea too. I have the odd decaf tea when out if there is nothing else but often pay for a decaf, ask them to leave tea bag out and then put my own redbush teabag in the teapot and pass the decaf onto a friend. My GP said the odd decaf wouldn’t hurt me and I have halved my cholesterol now. I also have benecol light spread on my bread, the taste of it on its own is not nice so am not tempted to pile it on like I would butter. I have to follow a low fat diet because of stomach problems so none of this is a problem. I just followed the Nhs 12 week plan and count my calories, weigh my food and write it all down still. It has become a new healthy way of living . You must work on small steps work towards your first 7lb loss and treat yourself with a non food item when you reach these small goals. Organise your food, get in lots of veg and fruit and you are ready to go. Join a weigh in group on here and you will gets lots is support and encouragement from everyone. You can and will do it . Look forward to following your progress .😀😀😀Sue
