Montelukast generic Less effective?

I have been on Singulair (branded montelukast) but last week doctor issued generic Montelukast. Anyone here on generic montelukast and is it still effective? I have read somewhere the generic is not that effective as The branded one. Thank you for your replies! 😊

montelukast

I have been taking one each night. Not sure how effective it is but I probably don’t wake up as much coughing. No side effects except occasional very vivid dreams!

Montelukast

Hi I asked the forum a few weeks ago for anyone who is taking this tablet. I have been taking it for 4 weeks now but can't actually see any improvement. it just makes me so tired in the evening. what I would really like to know is does this tablet take a long time before I see the benefit. thank

Montelukast

Anyone had experience of their child having an extreme change in mood when taking Montelukast? My child has taken it for years but within days of taking a new brand they appear to have sunk into a deep depression, they are crying, anxious not sleeping or eating.

Questions about Montelukast and Metformin

I tried to find the answers by searching meds that aggrevate RLS but couldn't find an answer. Do the above cause any RL problems? I am trying to be so careful about anything, over the counter or prescription, that I take now. I will have a full blood panel (ferritin) checked for first time on Monday

Stopping Montelukast

Now my Dr has recently advised me to stop taking Montelukast but hasn't given a reason even though he knows that this was what brought my asthma under control in the first place. When I have previously run out of montelukast I have noticed an increase in asthma symptoms.

Update on my Sirdupla changes

He also wanted to put me on Montelukast to help with the transition. Unfortunately I have been on Montelukast before and I had to stop taking it (I think it caused attacks to come on more quickly and strongly but it was a while ago now so I can't remember for sure).

Montelukast

Only thing I can recommend is since using montelukast I haven't had to use my salbutamol inhaler. Good health and hope it improves.

Respiratory Consultant wants me to come off asthma meds!

So previously would like to think I was fit - peak flow used to be 450 and I had seretide 500, Ventolin and montelukast to control asthma, with steroids for exacerbations caused by chest infection or hayfever. Has this happened to anyone else and if so what did you do?
