Asthma suddenly worse after 30 years of being well
Hello everyone and happy new year, I'm hoping to get some advice. I had bad asthma in childhood but it's been well controlled with a preventative inhaler since my teens, with only occasional use of my blue ventolin puffer. I'm 51 now and caught a bad cold at the start of December (despite a flu jab

Over did the walking...
But it sure was worth it! I had a blood test, and flu jab this morning. Since they don't hand out lollipops, I decided a treat was in order. It w As beautiful, frosty, and misty. My favourite walk. Shep likes it too!

Neuro-optometrist: update

, which I had just before my symptoms began. He believes it can interfere with visual systems. The best part of all? He does all his work for nothing. The part that is still unclear is how (and whether) all this is affecting my cognition.

Confused by what nurse told me
After years of wheezing and then struggling to breath I was told I had Asthma, but the inhalers had little effect. I moved doctors and when I asked about a program for my Asthma I was sent to the practice's nurse. I had several tests and then more tests a couple of months later, I had to blow in to a

Stopped T3 - feel dreadful!
Hi everyone! I'm after a bit of advice. I went to see an endocrinologist a few weeks ago and my T3 level was pretty high (I've been self-sourcing after another private doctor told me a couple of years ago my levels were 'disastrous'). The endo suggested that I stopped T3 and just carried on with the

Hello new here 😀
Hello. Thought I give this a try. Please can I ask before I start not to use hard words and keep things simple as I have a learning disability and I may not understand them thanks 😀 I am trying to find some help with this. Going to try my best to explain. Recently my gp said to try the flu jab as I

Flu jab
I was meant to have the flu jab a couple of weeks back and I didn't. I had it last year the day before Christmas Eve and felt so ill. Even putting the pressies round the tree the next day brought me out in a sweat...and I felt fluey all over Christmas which obviously spoilt it a bit with fibro on top

Do undertreated Thyroids make things like flu and colds worse do you think
So I’ve had the flu, no I don’t mean cold, I mean flat out in bed for a fortnight unable to move feeling like death flu. The other half has said that they have never seen me look so ill even after I had my appendix out, Mind you the fact that my TSH is 58 at the moment I don’t suppose is helping, yes

Flu jab.
Yesterday I had my fourth cycle of chemo and avastin. I was advised by the chemo nurse to get a flu jab. I phoned my doctors surgery this morning and they said they're so sorry but I'm not eligible. I need to get it done at a chemists. It's not the money I'm bothered about but the principle. Surely

Flu jab?
Hi, I was just wondering what people's opinion/experience with having the flu vaccination was? I am offered it for free at work, but as person with fibromyalgia I am worried this could cause problems opposed to helping! What do people think?

Have had 1st spirometer test today and have mild to moderate COPD, Feeling a bit down as have many unanswered questions, ie do I have to notify my place of work, is there any breathing exercises I can try. Don't know what my reading was for test, but have to go back in 4 weeks for another spirometer

Low Platelets
I just got back from my visit to MD Anderson and had a platelet count of 89. My last readings from about 4 months ago were 166. I was very shocked by how low these levels were. Dr Keating was not worried about this at all. He said it could be from having a cold which I had a couple weeks ago or from

How to prevent chest infections?
I am a 67 year old W and W er in the UK possibly looking at some form of treatment next year. I am otherwise fit with no other symptoms other than every time I get a cold it almost inevitably ends up with me at the GP getting antibiotics to combat a chest infection. I know my immune system is compromised

Starting methotrexate
So I had my 6 month check up with the rheumy today. She's totally lost knowing what to do with me - I've had to come off plaquenil again as it's just making me so sick and such bad stomach acid I just can't cope with it. All of the other treatments we've tried I seem to react to - which we now know is
