Mirena

I had excision surgery (endo found in uteral sacral ligaments and around ovaries) and Mirena fitted in January, but I just feel like pain is coming back! :( .. I’m in agony lately with pain after intense exercise/intercourse but it seems to be the day after for some reason.

My GP once told me that the Mirena was regulating my hormones and that actually my best chance to conceive was just after I had it removed. Well, now all I can think is, if it doesn't happen straight away, that's my best chance gone and it probably won't happen.

Avoided Mirena coil as I developed a phobia at the start of my last smear, my body just clamped up that the nurse couldn't continue. I have Fibroids and Adenomyosis, had CT, MRI and US, plus biopsy and Gynae happy.

I have a Mirena coil fitted now and was told it can take time to settle, so again not sure what to expect but although the bleeding is thankfully less heavy than pre-Lap it is still more than just spotting. I suppose I just want to know this is all normal and that things will get better in time?

Also, the gyno offered to fit the Mirena coil while I was under anaesthetic (I've never had children). I've been reading up on it and I feel like my periods aren't enough of a nuisance to risk the pain associated with having the Mirena.

I didn't get along with the Mirena either, and have tried all other forms of contraception so I went back to the copper coil but now the pain is back.

We discussed all options and she told me that my only options were either the Mirena coil, or to not use any contraceptives (apart from condoms obviously) and just deal with the pain and irregular heavy bleeding as best I could.

I've had a laparoscopy where they removed what they were able to see on my ovaries/womb and I had an MRI (when my insides were looking their best whilst on the Mirena I no longer have) which showed it inside my ovaries, but nothing has been mentioned anywhere else so I'm just wondering what your experiences

Hey my name is spemzy I have endo my left ovaries and in my pouch Douglas , mirena coil, I am on prostap 3 injection too and I had 2 lap too.

I’ve had the Mirena coil for almost 4 months now and I have been in excruciating pain almost every day since I got it. I’ve also had light bleeding almost every day aswell. I went to the doctor who said it was in the right position and there was no infection.

Has anyone else had the same problems with mirena coil 2 to 3 weeks after? Thanks x

I had a op yesterday i have endometriosis also had a cyst burst and a biopy taken from my uterus all so found out i have adenomyosis and have had the marina coil fitted i have been in pain on a constant basis since i was 14 i am 33 now n not really taking it well i feel like my hips r broke apperently

After lots of reading and am concerned what my options maybe to treat the end o because I have had the mirena coil fitted for the past 20 years (replaced after every 5 years) to control heavy bleeding and painful periods, I have also been taking amitriptyline for the last 15 years for migraine prevention

Then I passed a dark blood clot, definitely from my bladder, looks very periody (I don’t bleed since the Mirena was put in) and now I’m thinking good lord this must be endo related, although I’ve still not had my lap I’m over the 18 weeks wait.

I’ve been treated for yeast infections, BV, I’ve had my mirena coil removed , and all sorts of stuff. I’m really stressed and ready to feel normal again down there but my OBGYN says everything looks fine. Idk what to do.

I had the mirena coil fitted to be proactive and again, all went great. Surgery was 2 years ago and I've had the coil almost 18 months. Slowly, over the last 6 months, the endo has been creeping back in. Last night, it came back with a bang! I'm feeling so fed up about it!
