Mirena

I had my Mirena coil removed on the 21st Dec ‘18, I then had a very heavy period with lots of clots between the 7th and 10th of jan ‘19, since then I’ve not had any periods, the week before I was due in feb had all the signs (spots, cranky and tummy cramps) but no period.

Hi, I'm on Norethisterone while waiting for a date for my mirena coil to be re fitted. I'm experiencing bad cramps around the time my period would be due, has anyone else experienced this?

Also have you got or had a mirena in and how has your experience been with that? I’m not sure what I should be doing. I could use some advice please :(

Hi everyone I'm new here, I was diagnosed with endometriosis via laparoscopy in June 2018, stage 2, during my follow up appointment with my consultant he recommended me having the mirena coil which I had inserted in October 2018.

I’m just in so much pain, I had Mirena fitted - which seems to feel fine, little bit of spotting, I just can’t get over the pain in my abdomen and I’m pretty good with pain normally. Any advice would be grateful 💕

Hi everyone, I was just wondering if anyone else had problems with the mirena coil? I’ve had it in for 9 months but till last month was still having heavy periods. I had a laparoscopy in may and helica treatment and the coil was inserted then.

I am due to have a hysteroscopy on wednesday next week with a endo biospy and a mirena cole inserted. I am going under GA and am now starting to get really nervous.

Hi, I’ve often suffered with lower back pain especially around the time of my period, I’m 7 wk post lap and it’s around my period time (not sure exactly as mirena stopped period). I’ve got a lot of pain in my coccyx area, right at the top of my bum crack!

I had endoscopic and was told 11yrs ago l had endo l was given the mirena coil, then in 2014 a hysterectomy (still have ovaries). l had to have bowel repairs and had lots of adhesions.

Hello everybody, had mirena inserted nearly a month ago. Bled moderately immediately after, then a week off then my period started which hasnt stopped since. Had lots of cramping for a week and now it feels mostly fine.

Hey girls I had the marina coil put it about 2 months ago and still having alot trouble with it, pain is constant, but been told it can take up to 6months. I've come out with some terrible acne all over my face and was wondering if they're was any remedies to keep it away and at bay?

I had the mirena out dec 31st which i.had for 10 months but i couldnt take the side effects anymore. So thinking to try pegesterone only pill, can anyone advise me any, and what side effects come with it? Thanks xx

My specialist put in a Mirena after the surgery and I am wondering if anyone has had experiences after a major endo excision surgery and placement of the Mirena and if it helped or if your endometriosis returned in the form of Endometriomas or otherwise.

I also had a new mirena coil fitted. I was hopeful that this would be the end to the daily dull pains. Unfortunately this has not been the case. I have been reading online for other remedies that people have used and going gluten free seems to have worked for some.

I had the coil fitted around 6 weeks ago and I’m due my check up. I bled a lot for around the first 4 weeks and then it started to lighten up, I’m currently still bleeding but it’s more of the browny colour one is this a sign that I’m stopping or does this mean something else??

It's been suggested next to try the mirena coil, but palpitations seem to be a common side effect of that and I suffer badly with them already due to generalised anxiety disorder and OCD that I am struggling with at the moment, massively fuelled by how bad the endometriosis symptoms are.

Dr inserted Mirena coil, but I'm still suffering with Pelvic pain, and cramping after intercourse aswell as vaginal bleeding on any kind of physical activity. My consultant wants to perform another laparoscopy to remove the coil, a small cyst on the right ovary and ablation of the uterus.

I only have one concern, I also had the mirena coil fitted during my procedure and over the past couple of days have terrible cramping in the lower part of my stomach when I go to the toilet, I'm unsure whether this is to do with the coil or bruising from my surgery?

She suspects Endo and wants me to have a laparoscopy and at the same time the Mirena cool fitted. I’m not a fan of hormonal contraceptives and only lasted on the pill 2 months as it triggered depression.

Does the mirena suppress the endo and make it harder to spot? I'll add my paperwork, if that means anything to anyone. Has anyone had similar?
