Gluten free??

Hey folks,

I had a laparoscopy in November to remove stage 3-4 endometriosis, ovarian cysts and fluid on my cervix. I also had a new mirena coil fitted. I was hopeful that this would be the end to the daily dull pains. Unfortunately this has not been the case. I have been reading online for other remedies that people have used and going gluten free seems to have worked for some. If anyone has done this and has any tips etc I’d be grateful to hear. It’s a big step but I’ll happily take it if it works. Thanks ladies.

Hi. Sorry to hear you aren’t getting the relief from the surgery, it’s frustrating and happened to me the first time. I have stage 4 deep infiltrated endo and I tried the endo diet , I was very sceptical but my husband said it was worth a try and I was surprised how much food impacted on my pain. I followed it strictly for 6 weeks then tried one thing at a time. So for me I’m fine with dairy products but anything like pasta, pizza, breads with seeds in all set it off, I can’t even do gluten free varieties it still causes upset. I also have to be careful with cakes, biscuits etc I have experimented and found things I can eat and avoid new things unless I have the time to be ill for a few days. It may take some time and if you’re like me you won’t always get it right and set it off but it was well worth it -my husband was right 🙉.

Good luck in finding what to avoid. Xx

That’s great to hear you’ve found something that works!! I think i might try your method of being strict for 6 weeks first. Anything is worth a try at this point. I have also heard turmeric capsules are good for reducing inflammation so that might be worth a shout!! Thanks so much xxx

Hi. Hope you’re having a good day. I was in so much pain and willing to try anything. It wasn’t easy to eat out or at other people’s, but to be fair it was a good a3/4 weeks before a noticeable difference and I wasn’t really well enough to go out anyway. I followed a book which is Called endometriosis a key to healing and fertility through nutrition, it’s very detailed but I had been diagnosed out of the blue and I wanted to know as much as possible to get my head round it. Hopefully you’ll find what agrevates and what you’re ok with. Good luck. Xx

I would suggest doing a food intolerance test. I was allergic to eggs, some fruits etc which caused bloating and belly pains. They usually suggest eliminating gluten, dairy and sugar. Try to do anti inflammatory diet for a couple of weeks and see how you feel.
