Mirena

Looking for advice, I no i have Endometriosis , it runs in our family, i have the mirena coil in to stop heavy bleeding. Now the last couple of years my bowels have changed and my bladder is horrendous! Wondering if its attached itself onto my bladder and bowel.

I've had the mirena coil a few years back and it made me worse. Recently had an ultrasound and internal scan but it all came back clear. Have been referred to see a gynaecologist This may sound really drastic but i'm not sure if I can keep going until I see a specialist.

Hello, has anyone tried the mirena coil and oestrogen gel to help with severe PMT and if so, how did you find it? Thanks!

Has anyone else experienced this? It’s been 2 weeks since I had mine removed and I seem to be having a hard time getting my heart rate to act nice since. I was very well controlled on 25 mg a day of metropolol until this , hardly any pvcs any more ( which is still the case thank goodness) I have increased

Bt of back story, long term mirena user but after having it replaced during surgery last year i had horrendous pain. Went to hospital where had to have it removed as it was coming out, at the same time a new one was put in. A week later still in pain i went back and had it removed.

I am Using the mirena so don’t usually bleed just spotting. I was wondering if it had to do with the NAC or if my endo’s just getting worse as I am in a lot of pain. My last surgery was 3 years ago when the mirena was also put in. Anyway what were your results with NAC does it cause bleeding?

They fitted me with a mirena coil, said that would help my symptoms even without an endo diagnosis, I was told things would settle in a couple months. Except we're now in September and it's the same! Periods that last three weeks, spotting between periods.

Hi, I've had a horrible 2.5 years trying various contraception pills, mirena and vaginal ring to control my endo pain and periods but I've had very bad mood swings + cervix bleeding from too much estrogen due to taking the pill. I don't want to take any more contraception pills.

Hi everyone, I had an emergency diagnostic laparoscopy on 30th July 2020 and a Mirena coil fitted. My surgeon found no endometriosis or any cause for my physical pain, just that my bowel seemed a little full. The coil seems to have made things worse.

Onto my 2nd Mirena coil - 1yr on & experiencing chronic dizziness fatigue headaches nausea & brain fog

I have the marina coil and have a period every 17 days have had the coil for 3 years. Is this normal

I’ve recently had the Mirena coil removed and have the most horrendously heavy period to the point where I can’t go to work. 8 days of full on bleeding. GP has prescribed Tranexamic Acid tablets which are starting to work, and I’ve just had another blood test. My haemoglobin is 105.

Hope you're all well :) I just had a question about the Mirena - I had mine put in 2 weeks ago during my laparoscopy. I know there are meant to be cramps and whatnot with them so I was fully prepared for the uncomfortableness that would ensue. But this is worse than when I had my endo flare ups!

But now they’re saying it can’t be endometriosis based on the results, and that I need to carry on with Mirena coil and just take the pill as well to stop the symptoms and pain. I’m concerned that I’d just be taking more hormones to mask the problem, rather than fix anything.

I have the mirena coil which stopped my periods but has done nothing for my pain. I have been taking medication to reduce neuropathic pain with mixed success but I am keen to come off these.

Hello, has anyone has difficulty getting pregnant after having a Mirena coil removed? I’ve never had a baby and would like to conceive and have been trying for 6 months with nothing. My period is so much lighter than before I had the Mirena (although day 1 is medium flow).

I am in the midst of what I believe is a Mirena coil crash an am waiting to see my consultant about options going forward.

Hi, I had a mirena coil in for 8 months since my c section....and it came out on sat. I was so happy because I hate it. I just rang the hospital department to ask about a different contraceptive and they said I have no choice but another coil. I cried on the phone to her.

After years of pain, constant back & forth to doctors with mis diagnosis, i finally had my first laparoscopy back in February and the gynaecologist found & removed endometriosis plus fitted me with mirena coil. First couple of months after surgery I felt myself again and the pain wasn't as bad.
