Agony following swab!
All I’ve had done is a hysteroscopy and
Mirena
insertion. Surely this isn’t right!

First Lap and Mirena Coil
I am feeling a little nervous about the procedure and the aftermath, I went private for a referral and the doctor who saw me wants to fit the
mirena
coil while I am under. What are everyone's opinions on the coil? I have seen a very mixed bag of reviews and I just can't decide what to do?

Advice needed: Extremely Heavy Period
Hi all, I was advised to come off the combined pill until I have the
mirena
coil fitted next month. Before I came off the pill I passed a decidual cast with a heavy period. I've had one light period since then.

Confused!
I am 40 years old and I was diagnosed 15 years ago and have managed the condition, having treatment to get pregnant,
mirena
coil, ablations, you name it, I have probably had it! My last ablation was last September.

Non-hormonal IUD (copper coil) and endo
They tried me on the mini-pill (because I'm 40 I'm too old for the normal pill), then with a
Mirena
coil. Both caused my mood to drop dangerously, and I was bleeding constantly. So I got them to remove the
Mirena
at the same time as the laparoscopy, and all has been well since then.

Pain between rib and hip......is this endo?
I’ve seen one who told me that if the pain hasn’t stopped after having
Mirena
fitted then it can’t be gynae so I don’t have much faith. My healthcare provider will authorise a second opinion but I’m losing faith in everyone! Many thanks

Urgent advice needed please about the pill and Mirena coil
Does the
Mirena
coil stay in for 5 years or 3 years? If I want it removed can this be done under GA as well? I have a low pain threshold! If I can only have it done at the GPs what is the procedure/method used to put it in and take it out please? I heard its done standing up??!!

Elevated CA125
I had my
mirena
coil in for 7 years and decided to have it removed and to go back to periods. The periods have been heavy with a day of flooding and large clots. More recently I've had pelvic pain that lasts throughout the month in the right ovary area.

Pain management options while waiting to be seen...
Mirena
coil, various types of pill, mefenamic acid. I saw a private consultant who agreed the best way forward is a hysterectomy, I felt relief at getting myself fixed, finally!

Appointment with new gynaecologist tomorrow
My gynaecologist told me that my only options were the pill or
mirena
coil, neither of which I was prepared to use because of the impact synthetic hormones have on my mental health (I'd rather be in pain than depressed and suicidal if that's my choice!).

If Mirena doesn’t stop pain, it’s not endo?
Following a “probable” diagnosis of endo my gynae fitted a
Mirena
coil and I had to see her three months later. Whilst periods were a fraction of what they’ve been for years and much less painful other pelvic pains still continue. She said that because I still had pain it can’t be endo.

Mirena Coil...
Is there anyone here who has tried the
Mirena
Coil? Did it help you with your Endo? At the moment I’m on Cerazette (Progesterone Only Pill) and I often bleed so heavily and I get terrible aches and pains...

Elevated Oestradiol
I returned to the doctor today only to be advised to have the
Mirena
coil fitted to regulate my periods. They have agreed to repeat my pelvic scan on my request (to put my mind at ease?!). But said hormone testing is pointless as they don’t know where I am in my cycle.

Mirena Coil Pain: is this normal?
I had the
mirena
coil fitted five weeks ago during my first diagnostic laparoscopy where endometriosis was diagnosed. They didn’t remove any tissue, because that’s not how they do it at that hospital; the first laparoscopy is purely diagnostic.

Now what? Take co-codamol!
I forgot to add that when I went back to see the gynae for a follow up on
Mirena
fitting she said that because I still had pain it can’t be gynae so off I go! I don’t know where to turn as this can’t be normal and I know something isn’t right!

Heavy bleeding
Just wondered if anyone has had the
Mirena
coil to control heavy bleeding? Gynaecology recommended it to me as I am having very heavy bleeding at times.
