Quit smoking
Do you think it’s better to quit smoking cold turkey or using nicotine patches? Thank you.

Is Advil or Tylenol an issue for pain relief after surgery?
I’ve been taking Motrin or Advil and sometimes Tylenol for pain. It’s been 8 days and can foresee another possible week. I’m woke up feeling startled and I’m not sure if it’s the medication affecting the b12 or what it is exactly but it reminds me of how I felt during the nightmare of realizing it

Doctors found a liaison leaning on my spinal cord measuring 1.7cm and are figuring what’s better surgery or radiation. I had radiation when I had my right lung removed in 2017 so surgery might be better. I have 7cm tumor in my chest wall they are doing a plan to radiate them chemo, we tried gemzar

Free ebook of 300 pages:"Parkinson's here and now. 27 years searching for a cure for Parkinson's disease (1994-2021)."
This coming Monday (if everything goes as planned) I will publish on my blog "Parkinson's here and now" the link to a free book of about 250-300 pages and in printable pdf format, which collects the most interesting of the book I published in 2015 (now translated into English) as a tribute to my father

Is Parkinson's disease a lifestyle disease? 1. Parkinsonian lifestyle (higher risk).
(Excerpt from the book I am writing now. I hope you find it useful). Is Parkinson's disease a lifestyle disease? 1. Parkinsonian style (increased risk of developing the disease) I have less and less doubts about the existence of a "Parkinsonian" way of life, which predisposes and increases the risk

Advice please
I have smoked since I was 13. I'm 35 now. I stopped once for 5 years then started again a year ago. I smoke more than ever now and can really feel the effects. I so desperately want to stop but I can't use nicotine patches I've had bad reactions to them. I can't go cold turkey because I become a monster

Stopping smoking
I’m on day 18, I am all over the place. I feel forgetful at times and just have moments I feel so awful in myself. My skin is worse, I’ve put weight on. I don’t know how to handle the cravings. I’ve got a vape and nicotine patches, can anyone advise anything more that could work please?

CMT carrier
I have genetic testing stating I am a CMT4j carrier. But I believe I have CMT symptoms. Typical high arches with 8 hammer toes. Peripheral neuropathy. Pain in hands, weak hands and respiratory issues. Is it possible to be a carrier WITH symptoms? My neuromuscular doctor says no.

Vitamin D the sunshine vitamin
A study was done on breast cancer patients and found that most were lacking in vitamin D. I am a breast cancer survivor I take 8000 vitamin D daily. It is not too far-fetched to feel that most autoimmune problems also are related to a lack of vitamin D as many people with this problem live in the Pacific

Devastated to learn son may have CMT
Hi all, After many many months of trying to find out why my eldest handsome 16 year old son has developed scoliosis, muscle atrophy, losing weight and foot drop, a nerve conduction study and EMG revealed he has nerve damage in his arms and legs. Neurologist suspects hereditary poly neuropathy aka CMT

Hello! I have been meaning to find a community since I started so I stop boring my roommates with details. I also work in a creative tech industry where people get defensive and shamed when anyone talks about trying to get healthier. :p This is my third time trying, but the first time it’s stuck for

Hi I'm new to posting! Looking for advice on nicotine patches 😊
Hi everyone! I'm just finishing day 10 of being smoke free using nicotine patches and hoping for some advice from those who have quit using this method before 😊. Originally I started using step 1 of niquitin clear strips which I found a nightmare. The strips fell off almost constantly and they were

2 month old shots
Hi I was wondering what type of Tylenol is safe for a 2 month old that weighs 12 pounds. I bought the infants motrin concentrated drops but it says for 6 months and up. So I’m not really sure if it’s safe for him. Thank you for the feed back!

Do Nordic Walking Poles help for CMT drop foot?
I have the drop foot type CMT. The muscle on the top of my foot which is used to launch forward when you walk really does not work well any more. It is very tiring to walk because my legs have to do all the work. Has anyone with this same condition tried Nordic Walking Poles? And has it helped you

Some good tips not just for Corona patients.
Here is some very helpful info and tips that I found on my Facebook feed. Good ideas that easily could apply to us with Bronx and Asthma. CORONA Common Sense Since they are calling on Respiratory therapist to help fight the Corona virus, and I am a retired one, too old to work in a hospital setting

Endo, the pill and kidneys?
I’ve been getting quite a lot of pain in my sides and mid back deep inside recently which usually occurs as the day is beginning to end. I also get stomach pains which I’ve had for ages but usually disappears when I’m on birth control. After dinner it usually starts and I feel bloated in my back if that
