Why the difference?
It seems that METOPROLOL is in short supply in my area at the moment so my GP prescribed BISOPROLOL 2.5 to be taken once daily. My daily dose of METOPROLOL is 100 mg twice daily. Why the difference in amount? THUMPER

Anxiety meds and A-Fib
What anxiety meds are good to take with A-Fib? I am on Multaq (dronedarone), Losartan, Eliquis, hydrochlorothiazide, metroprolol. I am in US and this is my first post although I read all your posts everyday for years now and have learned so much! My internist had suggested a anxiety med last time I

Does Losartan cause muscle and joint pain?
I was given Losartan 50 MG by my cardiologist and it did not seem to do anything so she increased it to 100 MG. She said she would rather max out the Losartan before adding another medication. The 100 MG did not seem to do much either as my BP was a little higher than I would like. I went back to her

Ectopics or Atrial fibrillation (?)
Hi I have been feeling fluttering in my chest for a while. 45 yr male, management role & 75kgs. The Cardiologists have described it as frequent atrial and ventricular ectopic. On reviewing my data, it did race upwards at times (100+) but the issue seems to be the inconsistent Ectopic/AF beats and usually

Symbicort and metoprolol
For the past two months I have been having issues with sinusitis, allergic rhinitis and a productive cough. Never in my life have I ever experienced something so persistent. Went to allergist and had PFT and it was in the 70’s % . Doctor gave me a sample of symbicort to use twice a day. I am also using

Question on fluid draining with chf
Good Evening All - My mother has end stage chf and we are seeing her doctor tomorrow for a possible hospitalization so she can have fluid drained from her body. She is very congested all over her body and her legs are weeping. I was wondering how they would drain her at the age of 93? She is on 40

Any one else in their 20s or 30s with Af from drinking?
Read a few posts on here and decided to join with my story.... I'm a 25 year old Male who was recently diagnosed with "Holiday heart syndrome" and multiple pulmonary embolisms after drinking way too much beer and fireball (this happened roughly two weeks before Christmas). The first sign came the morning

Wot? No Metoprolol......
Just been to pick up my monthly prescription........pharmacist told me I CANNOT have Metoprolol anymore, because there is a "manufacturing problem", so I must contact my GP and get him to prescribe an alternative!!! Great! I have been taking it for over 5 years, with no issues, so I am obviously anxious

COMBINATION OF METOPROLOL & AMIODARONE
This is an extract from an article I read about AFib. I wondered if anybody else can expand on it: In some cases, a doctor may prescribe metoprolol for an irregular heartbeat. A 2013 study found that, when used with amiodarone (another heart medication), metoprolol could effectively prevent atrial fibrillation

My ablation experience
Hi everyone, I wanted to share my recent ablation experience as I know there are others who have upcoming procedures and still others who are deciding whether or not to go the ablation route to address their arrhythmias. Since I found the experiences of others helpful in my own decision making and coping

How I Conquered Heart-Disease and What I Have Learned in the Process
Before I relay the story, please read this first: What is the nature of your diet? Do you consume: - soft drinks, alcohol or fruit juices? If so, how often? - pasta, rice, bread, pizza, potatoes? - potato chips (crisps), pretzels, crackers? - fried foods (including fried eggs)? French fries? -

metoprolol
Been on metoprolol for 14 months since I had a stroke due to afib. Started on 25 mg then cut in half 12.5 mg. My primary doc changed me to carvedilol 3.125mg 9 days ago due to sob. I feel like a new person, I've done more in a week than I have in six months!

Finally a Diagnosis
Hello everyone! I have been reading a lot of posts on this forum while I waited for my holter results. It all started 8 years ago when I was 25. I had just gotten out of the Army and was in the best shape of my life. One evening, my band was performing (drummer) when I felt my heart beating so fast,

Significance of TSH
I was diagnosed in 03/17 with hyperthyroidism. I let symptoms go on for years and am paying the consequences. I developed a-fib, mitral valve regurgitation, congestive heart failure and severe osteoporosis. I think that my endocrinologist is good, but I usually see a nurse practitioner or physician's

Possible ablation complication
Hello - my name is Ally and I’m 58. I had an atrial tach ablation along with a clean up of the pulmonary veins he ablated 17 years ago for AF. Ever since the procedure (8 weeks ago) I have severely short of breath with walking or sitting upright. My heart rate never goes above 110 but it rises from
