Survived 19 years abuse rel. Still in midst of escape. Alienating my four girls to control. Developed constant high anxiety, now high BP!
I found you guys by googling my new BP med. Last three years on Clonodine and it was a Godsend for anxiety but doesn't seem to be helping BP anymore. Doc added Metoprolol today. Any advice how to proceed? I think he's trying to wean me off Clonodine but I need it for anxiety. I'm sitting here freaking

Tomorrow is 14 weeks post ablation
Except for my crazy afib episode that happened 3 days after my ablation, I’m happy to report that I’m doing well. I had a 1 minute episode confirmed by my Kardia device, about 4 weeks ago. I had another one last night, literally 10 seconds long, where my heart went out of wack. Both times I was at my

Update: third ablation a charm
Hi everyone hope people see this as I didn’t get much response on my post prior the third ablation. Which happened in a flurry! This was my third ablation in less than two years. For those fearful of CV and Ablation take one step at a time and go with- The fib/flutter stops you in your track and changes

Off Beta Blockers
Age 50. Been on Metoprolol (beta blocker), statins and aspirin since July 2018. Had 1 stent fitted end of August 2018. Then on the clopidogrel as well. All pretty good since then. Saw surgeon in Dec and he advised coming off the metoprolol as my BP was surprisingly low. So reduced to half dose for two

Thank you to everyone.
Hi all. I want to thank all those of you who replied to my post a couple of months ago after I was diagnosed with AF. Apart from the usual AF symptoms, I was suffering from frequent & severe 'bursting' sensations in the head which no one (not even the doctors) could identify. I changed the Bisoprolol

Getting the Meds Right Short of Ablation
After being only on the Beta Blocker, Metoprolol 25 mg. x 3 daily, and not being afib free, my doctor put me on Flecainide in addition to the Metoprolol. After one week on Flecainide 50 mg. x 2 day and Metoprolol 25 mg. x 2 day, I went into afib at 11:05 am on 12/28 with the kind of ragged, wild, rapid

I can't cry or shed tears!
Hello Everyone, I have a great concern about my eyes. I can't seem to cry at all or shed any tears! That worries me so much! I used to be able tp cru when I felt the need to do so but now I can't. My eyes seem dry...very dry! I didn't have this problem until I started taking and stopping that beta blocker

My 2018 and Happy New Year!
I'm inspired by the year-end posts and have been reflecting on 2018 myself. Funny how at year-end, I find myself feeling much as I did as the year began, which was right after my 2nd ablation in Dec. 2017. After months of various ups and downs and episodes and exploring 2 AF forums that had me skedaddling

Optimistic after 2nd ablation.
1st ablation 18/1/18–pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) partially successful. 2nd ablation 27/12/18–discovered that right PVI from 1st ablation was successful, but the left PV has reconnected. The connection was too close to the left inferior pulmonary vein, which had mild narrowing from the 1st ablation

New to Group - Chicago
I am new to this group by having a crisis that was precipitated by a GI bleed. I ended up in ICU for 4 nights, and was diagnosed with non-alcoholic cirrhosis of the liver. After two EGD's, I am slowly waiting to have my anticoagulants restarted (I have a pacemaker and chronic a fib). Meanwhile I just

Chf and 92 yr old mother
Good evening all! My 92 yr old mother has chf and afib. She seems to be having a difficult time of it lately and is very tired especially in the morning when she gets up. We saw the cardiologist recently and her afib has been acting up too. She has tachycardia many days. (She has a pacemaker for

Newly Diagnosed With AFib
Hi. I am new to H.U. I am a 69-year-old male in relatively-good physical health though a bit overweight, perhaps 20 lbs. Follow up 7 weeks post ablation
Today at my follow-up everything went well. As the technician was doing my ekg I had 1 ectopic beat. Other than that, it was perfect. They did blood work to check my levels. I had stopped amiodarone after only 25 days of being on it. Also, the Metoprolol was making me tired, so he cut it in half, down

Catching up
Hello everyone, It's been a while since I've posted. I found that I needed a break to focus on aspects of my life that needed more attention. Now I feel like posting an update. Just for grins, I've included a photo of the real Nella peeking out from her hiding place under that corner of the bedspread

I gave up meds
Post ablation my A-Fib is gone. Without discussing it with my doc, I stopped Pradaxa, metoprolol & Crestor. Am I crazy?

Would these be Afib ?
Hi everyone. I am 39, mother of 2, I started having palpitations this year. I august had 24 h ECG that showed several supra ventricular extrasystols and I was given metoprolol 50 mg daily. I did not take it daily as it lowers my BP which is already low. Since last Thursday I experience daily episodes
