How to know where a doc stands, without first becoming a patient?
This question could be generalized, to cover any concern about what treatments a doc might be willing or unwilling to pursue with a patient for ANY condition, but I was thinking more in terms of men with PC who are wondering if certain other docs might be more flexible than their current docs with off-label

ADT (Lupron) vs COVID vs Vaccine?
There is some speculation that ADT, Lupron in my case, may provide some protection against COVID 19 because absence of testosterone may not allow certain proteins to form. Does this mean that it might also resist a vaccine and make it ineffective? I just had my first Pfizer dose and I'm only on Lupron

High-Risk Localized Prostate Cancer: Changing the Rules
An good article discussing recent results of using AR targeting drugs like apalutamide with ADT before surgery, continuing for a year after. "Not in all men, but in about 20% the tumor was dead or necrotic." This was before surgery. Worth a read. https://vitaljake.com/high-risk-localized-prostate-cancer-changing-the-rules

Discontinuing Zytiga and increased memory loss
Has anyone had increased short term and medium term memory loss after he decreased his dosage of Zytiga. Reducing his dose from 1000 mg to 750 mg, on the way to totally stopping the Zytiga. Noticeable memory problems have developed the past 2 weeks, though neurological side effects seem lessened.

Any input on Abraxane chemo?
Got any experience with Abraxane chemo? It contains taxotere but I’d get weekly injections with lesser side effects instead of monthly injections of taxotere with stronger side effects. See below. My April 7 PSA Diagnostic did not drop for the 3rd month in a row. I’ve been taking Abiraterone daily

Rising Psa while on Lupron and Casodex
I have been on Lupron and Casodex since October of 2018. PSA has been undetectable <.01 for 2 years. In January of 2021, psa was .1. My last psa in April 2021 was .2. Can anyone tell me what is causing this rise and psa and should I be overly concerned. What would be next steps if psa continues to rise

Proton Therapy failed.
PSA went up three years in a row rising to 5.09 when Proton Therapy commenced. Gleason was 7 and 6 at time of proton therapy. On Lupron and Zytiga currently. PSA now rising again to 6.33 and unsure of what's next. Appt. 4/30.

preventing PC from coming back
I have been in remission for 4 yrs and still a little weak from the Lupron Shot which I decided not take anymore because of all the side effects. I did one 6 month shot which was enough for me. I had 1 tissue out of 12 tissues on my biopsy that was positive, so I caught the cancer the earliest I could

Cure after STAMPEDE.....it is possible
Yesterday my guy saw his new oncologist, who outlined the options he could follow now that he is 6 months past the two years followed in the STAMPEDE trial. Based on a long time PSA of 0, the oncologist thought it was possible the cancer has been eradicated and my guy cured. We were both stunned,

Falling ALP
Diagnosed metastatic and began treatment 11/2018. Gleason 9, PSA 200. Still have prostate. Only treatment is Lupron since 11/2018 (started Xgeva 2/2020). Yesterday my PSA was 0.5, a new low. But my ALP, after rising during the first year of Lupron from 50s to 82, has dropped over the last year to 31

Xofigo - first injection
Hi - First, I would like to thank all of you for your support and kindness. I'm so glad I found this group to help my father through his journey. My father received his first Xofigo treatment today. So far so good - with the exception of fatigue, he seems ok. What should we expect in the next few

Beast has returned
My G9 prostate was removed in 2014. PSA went to <0.1 for 18 months then rose to 0.18. Received 44 doses of radiation and Lupron in 2017. PSA fell to <0.1 until November 2020. However, my PSA level this week was 0.2. Looks like the beast has returned and it is time to seek a MO. I see no reason to return
