Slow recovery from general anesthesia…PC/ADT related?
I’m home recovering from bladder stone surgery…it’s been three days now and I’m just not bouncing back. Fatigued, dizziness and a bit nauseous. I didn’t have this in my previous prostate cancer, kidney stone or spinal surgeries. Has anyone else experienced this? I do worry a bit about the cumulative

Vacation never meant this much before.
I am currently off the Lupron train again. Second time. I am guessing this will be good for close to a year before my doctor freaks out again. With PSA doubling at a rate of 5-6 weeks he gets nervous. I however do not fear it anymore. The Lupron works really well to put my cells to sleep. Takes about

Great results....so far.
I was originally diagnosed in 2012. Gleason 7. PSA around 4. No mets. Got 40 radiation treatments, but PSA never fell below .6. Started to gradually increase in 2015, and then accelerated in 2019 to 65. Bone scans in 10/19 showed a few mets on hips and ribs. Prognosis: 3 = 4 years. At that

Axumin vs. PSMA
Are Axumin scans worthwhile as I see many PC patients get PSMA. But little mention of Axumin scans. My local cancer center only does PET or CT scans. Axumin scan is still closer for me than PSMA in Seattle. Should I get a scan? I’ve had no scans since 2020 My MO said we’d do scans if PSA went higher

Handling Cognitive issues assuming from Hormone Therapy
Doesn’t seem to be much addressing this subject. My husband has been on Lupron since 12/2016 then Zytiga till 5 months ago! Just had 4th treatment of Xofigo! his memory recall is not what it was. Gets some confusion when doing tasks! I don’t mention it now as he got upset when I tried to help! Do men

Is the cancer at this stage curable
I've update my profile with the case details. I am wondering if we should be expected to be cured of this disease at this stage. We've gotten multiple conflicting and vague answers regarding this from different uroonc's we've seen. One said it has metastasized outside prostate so it cannot be cured

Partial ADT holiday looking for advice
Started Xtandi and Lupron a year ago. PSA went to undetectable almost immediately. MO and I agreed to take a 6 week Xtandi holiday but continuing Lupron. I'm uncertain as to the wisdom of this draw down however 4 days in to life without Xtandi I'm hoping for improved QOL. Blood work scheduled in 6 weeks

Lupron vs Trelstar
My first injection 3+ months ago was with Lupron. When I got my second injection last week I was given Trestar. The PA said it was a common thing to interchange the two due to costs of the drug or availability at the time. Is it indeed a common practice and are there any cons with this practice?

Lupron timing, is it critical to stay on strict schedule?
I get my Lupron shots every 6 months. We have recently moved more than 1,000 miles. Looks like it might take awhile to transfer my medical care. My Lupron shot is due Sept 3. Question: Would a week or two delay be dangerous? If so I’ll try knocking on some backdoors to try to get jabbed before my paperwork

Orchiectomy
Been very busy with my new house so I'm just getting around to reporting on my orchiectomy. Bottom line: no more Lupron. Ever. Testosterone now <5. Hot flashes short and mild. Cold flashes not a problem. Procedure was straightforward and done at Strong Hospital here in Rochester, NY. I do wish

Hairy question
Just wanted to know if anyone here has experienced something like what I am going through. Over the past several months, my hair has been growing back on my head. However I now have lost almost all of my pubic hair to the point where I have only 5 or 6 hair on my pubic area (like when puberty first

Hi Roger. Diagnosed July 2015 stage 4. Prostate, ischium and L4 vertebrae, Immediately started on Lupron Had 18 weeks chemo (docytaxyl). No real hardship, not vomiting. All food tastes like metal and deep fatigue. Elected to a clinical trial for Stereotactic Ablative Radiotherapy to zap mets in ischium

Does Lupron compromise immune system?
Thinking of getting third COVID shot, not sure if being on ADT for prostate cancer justifies doing so. Have had 6 three month shots thus far. Is my immune system compromised?

PSA going up after docetaxel and zytiga
Mike was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer in April 2019. He did a month of firmagon and has been on lupron since. In June 2019 he started 6 treatments of docetaxel and his psa went down but two months later it was rising again. He was entered in a trial where Zytiga was added to his treatments

Hello all. I have reached a point that I have some new decisions to make. Based on my last PSMA scan from UCLA I have some activity in upper torso lymph nodes causing PSA to rise. Lupron and Aberiterone have been losing there effectiveness. My OC has suggested Chemo should be the next step. He wants

For those of you still working with advanced PCa, and on ADT and Radiation. Did you still work a full schedule?
Looking for some guidance. Advanced High Risk PCa, Gleason 9. Had Turp for Quality of life, but still having incontinent issues. Currently on Lupron, Abiraterone, Prednisone with Radiation to start in 2 weeks. I am still working but need lots of time for appointments every week and radiation has not
