Ticagrelor
I was prescribed Ticagrelor following open heart surgery in October. Last week I was hospitalised urgently suffering from Melena (black and tarry stools) caused by internal bleeding. Has anyone else had this? Please.

Puzzling symptoms while exercising beyond 20 minutes!
Hi everyone, I am a 42 year old man, always very slim and active, non-smoker, hoping to get your opinions about some puzzling symptoms I have been experiencing while doing moderate exercise (jogging fairly leisurely on treadmill). These manifest as a kind of unsteady, mildly dizzy "need-to-stop" kind

Erythritol has been linked to blood clotting, stroke, heart attack and death
Purified stevia leaf extracts (Truvia, PureVia, others) use this artificial sweetener and I was wondering how this would affect those on blood thinners, like Warfarin, who must maintain a certain pro time level. There was a study done in Cleveland and reported widely with some unexpected results. I

Holter test delay
I have AF and heart failure. I am been treated by medication. I had a bad turn where my heart rate went down to 43. I contacted my cardiac nurse who halved the dose of Bisoprolol. He organised a holter monitor. That was the 7 of February still not had an appointment to be fitted. My nurse will not increase

Slow irregular heartbeat?
Was diagnosed with arrhythmia last autumn, currently on edoxaban, flecanide and bisoprolol. About 20 hours ago my heart started beating irregularly, it is still slow (about 50 bpm) and seems to be missing a beat every 3/4 beats. NHS111 yesterday advised going to A&E where they did ECG and blood

The return of AF
Well, 8 months after my ablation for AF , it has made its unwelcome return. I started by feeling an increasing burden of SVE’s then noticed a different feeling which when I checked on kardia, confirmed that I am constantly slipping between slow AF, supraventricular ectopics and normal rhythm. Whatever

aortic valve surgery
morning all, I have had open heart surgery 8 weeks ago to replace my aortic valve. I have a mechanical valve now which I can hear ticking/thudding. Few days ago I could notice , while lying down, a few skipped heartbeats, naturally I got a little worried and also panicked which made the matter worse

Thanks to you all
Just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who replied to my previous post about my partner being diagnosed with emphysema. I spoke to a wonderful specialist nurse called Liz over the phone yesterday who reaffirmed a lot of what had been said. We spoke to his GP over the phone this morning and

Apixaban
I've had my Apixaban reduced from 5mg to 2.5mg, since this reduction I have had quite a lot of headaches. I tried to contact my GP, it would be easier to contact the Prime Minister. I do have other issues HBP, but it has remained stable for once. I also take Bisoprolol and a whole lot of other meds

Hi to you all and thank you for this forum as I’m learning so much from the chats 🌸 I was involved in a sleep study last year which was trialling larger doses of Lactobacillus to see if it helped the sleep hormones in the gut. Maybe I had the placebo 🤷♀️ as I didn’t find any difference. I received

Internal Burning
Hi,I am new here. I am desperate for answers. I had a hysterectomy 21 years ago and it was only through recurrent UTI’s that I was eventually diagnosed with vaginal atrophy. I was put on Vagifem and a vaginal moisturiser but whereas my UTI’s stopped the intense burning ( as if someone had put a tube

Endoxaban versus Apixaban
I have just received a phone call from my surgery pharmacist asking me if I would like to change from Apixaban to Endoxaban. I listened intently to what he had to say, it seems I fall into the criteria for doing this change. At the end of the conversation he said ‘ by changing it has considerable advantages

Paravalvular leak
I have a prosthetic aortic valve and have just been diagnosed a paravalvular leak. There is contradictory information on the internet: don't do anything until symptoms or treat with keyhole repair or treat with another open heart surgery replacement. I dread to think of a 2nd surgery, I also don't
