Holter test delay

I have AF and heart failure. I am been treated by medication. I had a bad turn where my heart rate went down to 43. I contacted my cardiac nurse who halved the dose of Bisoprolol. He organised a holter monitor. That was the 7 of February still not had an appointment to be fitted. My nurse will not increase my medication until it is done and I am not seeing my cardiologist until 18 April. I have had an echo and as yet there is no improvement in my stats. Still severe heart failure. I have not had another incident and feel much better with the new dosage. However I feel my treatment has totally stalled. Can you get this test done privately

Thanks for that I did feel as if I was about to pass out and it lasted for a couple of hours. I monitor myself with an Apple Watch and I got a notification about low heart rate so I thought I better report it. Wish I hadn’t! I had just had my Enalapril dose doubled thought it was that. All readings since then have been fine it does go low but only for a very short period of time with no symptoms. The Bisoprolol seemed to have been the catalyst.

Yes you can have a heart monitor arranged privately. I had a 2 week one as my episodes of arrythmia were infrequent sometimes. It was very unobtrusive with no wires etc. I then received a report and slotted back into the NHS appts system which took a while but ok as report not too concerning.

Got an appointment yesterday for the 15 May. I might try and source a private one . It is a long time to wait for further treatment.
