I have been AF free for nearly 2 yesrs but I’ve just had a 3 hour episode following using a tens machine on the back of my neck and shoulders for rebound headaches following using daily painkillers for a gum abscess are Tens machines a no no or is it just because I put the pads on the back of my neck

Pregabalin -v- Tramadol
Hello lovely people I’ve been on Tramadol for over 5 years now and fibro just getting worse. GP has now given me a regime to come off Tramadol and has prescribed Pregabalin. I’m happy about this but wanted to know people’s experience of Pregabalin - does it work well for you 🤞🏻 I’m also on 50mg Amitriptyline

TENS machine, AFl / Afib and aches and pains.
Hi, I wonder if anyone uses a TENS machine for hip and let muscle pain if you also have AFl or AFib? Because of taking blood thinners, most 'normal' painkillers are ruled out because they contain NSAIDs, leaving only really paracetamol for general pain. Or, if not, what do you use to help moderate

Pulse field abation
Hi, Sorry if this has been asked before but just wondering about those who have had pulse field ablation. How did you feel afterwards? Recovery time? And most importantly, did it work? Last question, if it did won’t - how was your AF before it? I’ve had one failed cardioversion, 4 failed ablations

Open Heart Surgery Ahead…
Born with a bicuspid valve, I guessed this day was coming…just not so soon! I will be 56 when they open my chest on August 15th. I would much rather have the TAVR procedure but at my age the long term planning doesn’t support that method at this time. So, OHD it is. I have significant procedural anxiety

Am I supposed to take this in the morning?
In an email with my Electro-physiologist today, he referred to my continuing to take the long acting metoprolol (metoprolol succinate, 25mg once a day) in the morning. In the past, I’ve taken it in the morning, and as my personal schedule changed, I am taking it now in the late evening. No matter

Great letter sums it up! Hi. My name is Hashimoto's. I'm an invisible autoimmune disease that attacks your thyroid gland causing you to become hypothyroid. I am now velcroed to you for life. If you have hypothyroidism, you probably have me. I am the number one cause of it in the U.S. and many

Breathlessness- pollen or something else?
I just wanted to ask if anyone else has been experiencing more breathlessness with the weather change. My mum has Permanent AF with heart failure. She’s had bisoprolol increased in February this year from 3.75mg once a day to the same dose twice a day. We had a GP appointment last week which I asked

Amiadarone side effects
I have been on Amiadarone and a whole host of other drugs since late February, when I had cardiogenic shock followed by a cardiac arrest. In the past few weeks I have developed a blocked tear duct with bleeding from it, and a very nasty, lumpy, red and sore-feeling rash on my hands and lower arms which

Best chair type for recovery
Hi, my boyfriend having a heart bypass in July. I wondered if anyone has any tips or suggestions on the most comfortable type of chair to use at home during his recovery (we moved house this week & thought I would get him a comfortable chair if people have any ideas of what type would be most comfortable

Kardia. An alternate way to use it.
I think Kardia is a great home device and own four of their models. However, from experience and after reading many posts here, it seems that how you use Kardia can often be the difference between it being helpful device that helps diagnose and manage arrhythmia's, and a device that causes more stress

BJM Investigation - Galleri promises to detect multiple cancers—but new evidence casts doubt on this much hyped blood test, 08/07/2024
Seems the potential conflicts-of-interests between private healthcare companies and government regulators are not limited to the US. Eating Nuts for Heart Health
If you are interested in eating nuts to improve your health, look up each one to see what vitamins or minerals it will supply and how many you should eat daily. It's important that nuts are 'really well chewed' and if you do that it will not effect pockets that may have formed in the bowel due to
