Has anyone found TENS unit to be helpful in alleviating back pain?
TENS UNIT: Has anyone found TENS unit to be... - Pain Concern
TENS UNIT
Nit fir back pain. But I used on my knee for pain and it helped. Little did I know I had fractured my knee. Which I found out after. But all the sane it helped loads.
Yes very much so. There are times when mine has saved my sanity as I try to keep medication to a minimum
I think TENS is a very personal thing, and it may also depend on what kind of pain you have as well. I found it useful when I was giving birth, but it was horrible and made things worse when I had nerve damage in my foot. My son has one too, and he tried it for rib pain, but found the wires and unit were more of a bother compared to the amount of pain it stopped.
So it is horse for courses!
Has anyone read that a TENS should not be used if you have hardware in your spine?
I have bi-lateral hip replacements also, CKD stage three among my many ailments 🤦♀️😵💫🤦♀️ so, I asked a pharmacist about using a tens machine for lower back pain - and his response was “I wouldn’t be prepared to sell you one, as wouldn’t want to be responsible for the possible outcomes!!” Heeding his advice I’ve stayed with the medical route.
I have severe AS on L2 to L5 plus two fractures and in a lot of pain as also trapped nerves but find Tens definitely does help with my condition usually having to have it on for 2/3hrs each day, so it works for me maybe not so much for some other people, They are not a huge outlay so maybe worth a try for you so good luck and let’s hope it helps.
