Zometa side effects
Hello, My new oncologist prefers Zometa to Xgeva so I had my first infusion of this on Monday. Yesterday, Wednesday, was horrible, aches, bone pain, nausea, chills....really just awful all day. I can barely move this morning. Is this from the Zometa? Has anyone had these side effects? The new team

Recent diagnosis - What was your radiation experience?
Hello, I was just diagnosed with stage 1, non-small cell. I'm debating between the open surgery (the nodule is not in an easy location) or targeting radiation. I'm scared of recovery from the surgery, but I'm also scared of potential long-term side effects from radiation. I'd appreciate hearing your

Cytomel makes me emotional
I take levo and cytomel, numbers are good. I split my cytomel in 2 and take it after breakfast and in the afternoon. I have noticed that a little bit after I take a dose of Cytomel I start to feel very emotional and often start crying. After the crying I feel better, but this is so strange. Did anyone

Intravenous Iron, oxidative stress and vitamin E and selenium
I have been reading about the possibility that some people may experience oxidative stress with intravenous iron therapy. I thought this article was interesting as it states that vitamin E and selenium are powerful antioxidants that can somewhat mitigate this problem. I would not suggest synthetic

Waking up at night. Headache. Ptsd nightmares. Nausea and headache. Overwhelmed
So i told you i randomly wake up at night. Mom said it was because i had rested but i didn't feel like that. She went to work. I started having insane headache and everything was irritating me. I went to sleep. I had really vivid nightmares about dad and his new family (my biggest ptsd trigger) and him

Heterogeneous Metastases?
I was first diagnosed Stage3 in Aug. 2014, ER+PR+Her2-. Found metastases in bones and lymph nodes in Dec. 2023, bioposied one node, same biomarkers. I was put on Tamoxifen which shrank many lesions, except for one. After that, I went through Tamoxifen, Letrozole + Kisqali, Faslodex + Kisqali, have scan

Atelectasis?
I have seen several people refer to this here, but didn't know what it was. My PET/CT scan on Friday showed some mildly alarming things -- bone met in spine is shrinking, but a bunch of subcentimeter but metabolically active lymph nodes around the lungs (hila, paratrachea, mediastinal-pleural). Not

Reaction to Taxol (Paclitaxel) and alternatives?
Hi- I was diagnosed with primary peritoneal cancer in Jan 2024. I had my first chemo last week and reacted to the taxol (paclitaxel) so could only receive bev and carboplatin. I will be switched to taxotere for my next treatment. Wondering if anyone else has had a reaction to taxol and then received

Ranolazine (used for angina) could potentially be repurposed for PCa. Only mouse studies so far.
“Treatment of cancer patients with lipid metabolic inhibitors like ranolazine could potentially re-activate the immune cells to restore and enhance cellular-mediated antitumor immunity and tumor regression.” Targeting Fat Oxidation in Mouse Prostate Cancer Decreases Tumor Growth and Stimulates Anti-Cancer

Suppressed TSH on combined therapy
Is there data/medical papers I can give my doctor as to why T3 is suppressed on combination therapy? I have tried looking at the Nice guidelines but they all seem against using combination therapy. Thanks Sue
