boy have i had my fair share of different medications to try to help me in the past 9 years. i've tried propranolol, buspar, hydroxyzine, none of those seem to have helped my anxiety at all. i was on lexparo for about 6 years until that just stopped working for me so 2 weeks ago i started zoloft. im just hoping it will work because i dont know what else to do. im seeing a therapist weekly now because of my recent hospitalization so hopefully that will help too. so far the zoloft has been hell. i feel slightly less anxiety but definitely more depression/suicidal thoughts. the other night i had a horrible panic attack and i seriously considered going to the er. im just hoping things will get better soon. im struggling a lot. i feel like some days it gets better and some days it gets worse.

I've tried all those too I'm currently taking Lyrica and was on gabapentin before that. I also take the herb ashwagandha for stress.
Out of all the meds you've tried, you don't mention a benzodiazapine (Ativan, Xanax, Klonopin), which seems strange to me if anxiety is your main issue, These are made specifically for anxiety and if anxiety is your main problem you really need to be on a benzo I think. SSRIs like Celexa and Zoloft may help treat anxiety but but that is not their main use. Many doctors are reluctant to prescribe benzos because of fear of "addiction"; if this is the case with your doctor you need to find a new one. I have been on a high dose of Ativan for over 10 years (along with various anti-depressants) and don't know where I'd be without it. Good luck.
the only time i've ever had one of those is when i went to the er for my first ever panic attack and they gave me some ativan, it definitely helped me calm down. i see a new psychiatrist next week so maybe i'll try to talk to them about it
I hate that up and down feeling especially if they come close together
