Is there data/medical papers I can give my doctor as to why T3 is suppressed on combination therapy? I have tried looking at the Nice guidelines but they all seem against using combination therapy. Thanks Sue

Hi redhead41 I rely on my endo letting my GP know a very low TSH is ok for me because of T3. The literature doesn’t seem to be that explicit. Respected doctors like Antonio Bianco and Prof Jaqueline Jonklaas (who research T3) write that T3 should ideally be used to bring TSH in range but that individual clinical practice might differ from this. So sort of hedging their bets. If you have a good endo who prescribed the T3 that might be the best support.
The endo is the problem - she is concerned about the suppressed TSH. She is prepared to leave it at the moment but won't want it to go lower.
