SCD diet seems to be working! Anyone else find diet helps?
Okay I know gluten-free helps with
malabsorption
issues — I’ve been GF for 15 years with Coeliac disease. Despite this, I’m sure I’ve suffered continued
malabsorption
issues since Hashimoto’s hit me, diagnosed 2 years ago.

Proton pump inhibitors (PPI's) and the risk of vitamin and mineral deficiency: evidence and clinical implications
Iron It has been postulated that chronic PPI therapy results in clinically significant iron
malabsorption
due to gastric acid hyposecretion and the risk of achlorhydria.

Unsure if I have PBC, can you help me?
I am having mild fat
malabsorption
. I am scared, it’s been 7 months and no answers. Is it possible for me to have PBC with this itch, even though my liver enzymes are normal?

Can anyone recommend an open minded competent endocrinologist in London, Berkshire or the City of Oxford?
Instead, I will ask to be referred to an endocrinologist, but I would like to find one more competent than the gastroenterologist (I believe my anaemia was caused by
malabsorption
of iron due to low stomach acidity, hence Omeprazole was entirely inappropriate).

Am Coeliac too, diagnosed 15 years ago and totally gluten free diet since. .....Now, since joining and reading here I suspect
malabsorption
is my main issue. I’m on a cocktail of the best quality recommended vitamins and supplements I can afford, including sublingual B12.

Which means it could have been a low level
malabsorption
. I have to say that even with a good knowledge of anatomy over the years, I STILL don't understand why that helped but I'm just sharing it here because I think it's very valuable.

Professor John Hooper
He was researching, so I recall, the impact of bacterial imbalance, rather than SIBO, on B12
malabsorption
in the ileum. Does anyone happen to know where he got to with this and how far off his research paper might be?

Betrayal - Episode 1
This is actually connected to gluten which is a shocking fact but what happens is that the gluten causes
malabsorption
which then caused malnutrition and the lack of B vitamins was the basis of the spasm and that eventually caused his death. Dr.

Newly diagnosed b12 deficiency advice please!
I also have suffered from IBS for many years so think it may be related to
malabsorption
. I had my ferritin tested which was 64 ug/l with a range of 11-307ug/l and folate was 3.8 ug/l with a range of 3.8 -25 ug/l ( in 2010 this was 2.5 ug/l with a range of 3-17 ug/l).

Why won't he poo on the loo!!
She suggested it may be a Gluten Intolerence or a Vitamin D
malabsorption
issue and refered back to the GP. They tried to take blood for a Gluten test but failed so referred to Paeds and suggested I put him onto a GF diet, which I did and it made a significant difference.
