oophorectomy
I'm booked in for my oophorectomy on Thursday and I'm starting to get a bit nervous. The op itself doesnt bother me in the slightest, it's more the life changing impact of early menopause that I'm concerned about. I have been pushing for something to be done about my endo since I was 20 (now 36). I've

Oophorectomy experiences?
Hello, I had a hysterectomy 2 and a half years ago and now I’m booked in for an oophorectomy to remove both ovaries laparoscopically and I just wondered if anyone else had had this done and what your experiences were like. I’m most interested in how long the recovery was and how you got on with starting

Pacemaker with AV node ablation
I have had 3 ablations, various meds used with no great success. This is as a result of a prosthetic mitral valve replacement some 20 years ago. The valve is still working well. It would appear that I am now looking at a pacemaker with av node ablation. I am hesitant, quite possibly because it is

Worsening Pain Upper Right Quadrant After Choleycystectomy
Just wondering about some symptoms after my cholecystectomy which I had at the end of October. I had an open surgery (seven hours) due to the gangrene, adhesions and collapsed common bile duct. Over the weeks since I have been gradually getting better but still disturbed by pain in the right upper quadrant

Pain below left rib after gallbladder removal
Hi, I'm new here. I had my gallbladder removed 4/12/17, and have a sharpe pain below my left rib and still get breathless. It was done by keyhole surgery, which I thought was supposed to be quicker recovery. I'm having to sleep propped up as lying on my sides is too painful. Does anybody else have this

Happy New Year
Hi all, I’ve just joined. I’ve tested positive for BRCA2 and will have bilateral salpingo oopherectomy in March in London. Strong cancer history in my family. I’m keen to hear from other ladies about their recovery experiences and life after BSO surgery. I’m almost 49. Thank you.

One week after TT and lymph node removal
Well here I am on the other side of my surgery, 5 months from seeing my Gp about my swollen lymph nodes. A six hour op waved goodbye to my Thyroid and all the anterior lymph nodes on the right side. Now swollen and sore, black and blue with a wound starting behind my right ear and finishing at my left

Inactive endometriosis
Hi while my surgeon is performing hysterectomy and ovary removal alongside excision of pelvic endometriosis he has said the endo on my diaphragm is inactive/old and no need to remove. Am confused as thought all endo should be removed, can endo become inactive? Am probably perimenopausal/46.

CRT-D Benefits Realisation
As I approach my AV Node ablation I was wondering if those who have undergone the Pace and Ablate procedure can tell me how long it takes to feel any benefits. I know this is a very subjective thing, but I wondered if you felt it on day one or did it take a few months. My own suspicion is that most

Borderline tumor
Hi everyone, I had a serious borderline tumor 10 years ago at 24. I lost the affected ovary, tube, appendix etc This was discovered at my 12 week scan during my first pregnancy. I had 6 monthly follow ups for 5 years& am now in St James annually. I had a 'complex' cyst on my remaining ovary 2 years ago

Who have good and or bad AV Node ablations results? Please share...
Hi, I am trying to find out more about successful AV Node ablation. Not the other type ablations. or did you decide on Ameodrone instead. Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Borderline tumor-completion surgery & no HRT
Hi everyone It's been 10 years since I had my ovary & borderline tumor removed ( I was 24) At my annual check yesterday the subject of removing the remaining ovary was heavily pushed and to my shock was told HRT would not be an option. I was too shocked to think of asking any questions. I am beside myself
