staples coming out from the colectomy stump!
I had a colostomy due to CT scan showing holes in my colon and abscesses on the wall behind. I began to have clear fluid leaking from the stump like a running faucet! I told the surgeon about it and he simply shrugged his shoulders and offered no advice. The leaking fluid stopped for a month. Now

The Journey Begins 7th August 2023
Nasty cough with shortness of breath , Local GP suspected chest infection, prescribed antibiotics and chest x ray, this picked up a issue so had chest CT scan. 12th August. Suspected lung cancer to right upper lobe .!! Early staging suggests T3/N2/M0 this now May have been a bit premature as Bronchoscopy

The Wind Beneath My Wings Caregiver Award
Behind every lung cancer patient stands a caregiver walking together with their loved one diagnosed with lung cancer. Whether it’s a shoulder to cry on or a ride to the doctor — caregivers are there to help. The caregiver is often the person behind the curtain, ensuring their loved one has everything

Never ending pain.
Hi all. I haven't written here before but I really feel the need for some help and support because I haven't had any from the medical profession. I have suffered off and on with anxiety and depression for year's but especially when somebody that I thought was a good friend stabbed me in the back and

post surgery recovery
I had lung surgery five weeks ago, lower left hand lobe The tumour was removed completely and the test results came back that it hasn’t spread to the lymph nodes which is fantastic news The problem I’m having is, I am still in excruciating pain in the area where the chest drain was , at the hospital

PET SUV 5 years s/p resection
Has anyone had a PET scan (5 years s/p RL lobectomy, R UL wedge for stage 1 adenocarcinoma) light up near suture site upper lobe (SUV 2.0) and it NOT be a recurrence? Going to see MD to discuss results today :(. Sadly preparing for bad news

Hi, everybody I had breathing problems last year. Went to my doctor & had a blood test that night I got a call to go straight to local hospital. Was there for14 hours but excellent service. Found build up of liquid in lungs & my ankles & lower legs were bigger. I had been cutting my socks as I thought

hi 👋🏽 What does mean please? appear polytypic. AE1/AE3 is negative. The lymph node shows prominent sinus histiocytosis. Features are consistent with a reactive hilar lymph node. In summary, there is a prominent non-specific bronchial inflammatory infiltrate with no obvious evidence of lymphoid

PET scan ordered
Saw my Surgeon yesterday for a routine follow up and this was the CT scan. I have just hit my 5 year mark from R UL wedge and R LL lobectomy. He said he WAS NOT WORRIED. However, needed to do a PET Scan to rule anything out due to the radiologists report. He has never done this in the past. He said

Bed hair
Well I've had all my tests, I'm now severe, got pulmonary hypertension so the lung reduction is out of the question, apparently. I can go forward for a lung transplant but you know, I caused this with smoking, I gave up 2 years ago. And I don't fancy having my ribcage opened and someone else's blood
