yes I had a colonoscopy with deep sedation. Didn’t remember anything about it after I woke up and had no problems because of my COPD. The doctor should be able to advise you as they are familiar with the stage of your COPD.

yes I’ve had a colonoscopy

I would recommend to take as much anaesthesia that is offered

The sedation made it easy.

Hi, I have Bronch and I have had 3 colonoscopies with sedation which was topped up as the procedure progressed. It took twice the time it normally takes the first time because of all the polyps found. No problems and no pain which for me because I suffer with bad arthritis was a boon. Take care, you will be fine. Maximonkey

I have emphysema and had two gastroscopies early this year with out sedation, I chose not to have sedation as I didn’t have any one to accompany me home from the hospital which was a condition of sedation. It was uncomfortable but I said to my self this is only for a few minutes. I found the team in the endoscopy suite were very kind and supportive and helped put me at ease. Your emphysema shouldn’t be a problem at all

I had a gastro endoscopy last month and the medical team got an anesthesiologist come in to monitor me during the procedure since I have PF. Usually they have a nurse do this, but I appreciated going the extra step and bringing in an anesthesiologist. No problems. The doctor said I was an ASA3 for MAC sedation whatever that means.
