Feeling cold despite overactive thyroid
I feel the cold all the time but GPs can't seem to find an issue. I'm currently in a heated home with three jumpers and two pairs of socks on, plus a blanket! GP did full blood tests, showing an overactive thyroid but all other tests within range (detailed below). I take 100mcg Levothyroxine a day and

Feeling grumpy and antsy!
My son was recently diagnosed Type 2 diabetic, and today neither of us can get our heads around what needs doing . Stuff has gone wrong big time, enough to really set us both on edge. For instance, he ordered Test strips online which should have been here yesterday. Royal MailTracking showed It has

Back in June I went on a work trip to London , which I will state was one of the most stressful time I have experienced. I was staying in a hotel room and I awoke early hours in the morning with V&D , luckily I manage to drive home safely however nausea was terrible. I then had V&D for 10 days. At this

PSA in lower range, yet PSMA PET SCAN shows diffuse bone Metastasis
Dear all , my father latest Total PSA level shows 6.24 which is down after touching 10.45. He was given one infusion of Docetaxel, however, he has been weaned off due to adverse reactions he has had, as his overall condition worsened and he had lot of prolonged mouth sores, with WBCs touching .08 and

Take care my friends on this forum with what chemicals you consume that are hidden in products you may buy. A friend recently told me about some wonderful hot chocolate sachets she had bought in a well known clothes and supermarket shop. She told me how wonderful it was and off I went to get some and

Struggling to bring down blood sugars
Hi Friends, As some of you know I've been on a journey and taking T3 was the real game changer. I am under the care of a fantastic private Endo. I've included my thyroid and sugar results in this post. My insulin is elevated indicating insulin resistance. All tests are done fasting and no meds

Post Operative Steroids
I am now home after having a new knee fitted. They kept me in an extra night due to being in surgery much longer than anticipated and low sodium levels, so saline drip overnight. I am guessing I was given more anaesthesia than planned, I am finding that I am more tired than I've ever felt. I can

Dietary restrictions and the workplace...
I requested a salad to accommodate
low
sodium
diet
. I was told no special treatment. Won't be showing up to that lunch despite being the team lead. Thoughts? Am I being the unreasonable one? I feel as if society as a whole excludes those who must eat differently or die a early death.

Raising Low Sodium Levels
I definitely feel the symptoms of
low
sodium
. I already add salt to my
diet
, at least 1/2 a teaspoon a day, or even close to a teaspoon. Other than that, I'm on a low salt diet. I don't want to eat too much salt as the Japanese have a high rate of stomach cancer due to a high salt intake.

Diabetes and oesophagectomy
I had an oesophagectomy (keyhole) in December 2021. I've made a slow, steady recovery and feel very lucky to be as well as I am today. I eat well but of course in much smaller quantities.I'm a type 2 diabetic and prior to my op I had my diabetes well controlled using Metformin and diet. I was told, at

Hello
Hi. So glad for this site. Newly diagnosed with a-fib, along with heart failure (diastolic). What diet to follow?
If he continues with a balanced
diet
with
low
sodium
, potassium and phosphorous, is it possible that the progression will be slow enough to last the rest of his life without the extreme change that an all plant-based diet would bring? We realize that every case is different. Thoughts?

Appendicitis and PMR?
I’m 67, have well controlled PMR and take 5mg of Prednisolone. I have been on a low carb diet because of a diagnosis of pre diabetes. On occasion I have been feeling tired recently and put that down to the change of diet. Ten days ago I got severe stomach cramps and a temperature and went to the GP
