Losartan and alcohol
Hi I’ve recently been put on Losartan 25mg for bp. I’m perimenopausal and anxious and it’s been running at about 140/90. Even after just 5 days my readings are already showing around 120/80 ish. I’m not a big drinker but do enjoy relaxing with a glass of wine. Do people find alcohol massively affects

Lower back pain
Hi My name is Gulshan Munshi. I am 68 years old and suffering from lower back pain which travels down to my legs which makes it very difficult to walk or sit for a longer period of time. I get kind of strange type of pain in my right leg e.g. vein or bone getting on top of each other and until that comes

Has anyone else been diagnosed with hypercalciuria (excess calcium in urine) causing osteoporosis?
I've read a couple of osteoporosis forums and searched online and am not finding any information on hypercalciuria causing osteoporosis and its treatment (thiazide drugs which cause your kidneys to get rid of potassium and magnesium instead of calcium). I was diagnosed with osteoporosis (in my spine

Raynauds and Nifedipine
This last winter I suffered terribly with the cold. All my life I have suffered with Raynauds Syndrome and winters have always been difficult for me with regards to my extremities (fingers, toes and nose) being cold and often painful. Even in summer having warm feet and toes has been a rare occurence

Losartan and increased heart rate
I’ve been taking ramipril for about a month and just changed to Losartan 25 as felt the ramipril was making me anxious. I’ve noticed my resting heart rate has increased slightly from about 67 to 72 average. Is this a thing? Obviously as an anxious person I’ve focussed in on it!!!

What GP checks should I have post AVR?
I had an AVR 2 years ago and get an annual CT scan to check that all is well. Medication wise - I am on bisoprolol, eplenerone, losartan, furosemide, colecalciferol and warfarin. My INR is monitored re the latter. My query is what involvement, if any should I get from the GP? I have an annual telephone

LISINOPRIL AND AFIB
Hello all, are there any on this forum taking lisinopril for high blood pressure? I just came across this today and it could explain why I and maybe others have more afib episodes than we should; 1. Caution: High blood pressure/heart disease meds and potassium-rich foods like bananas, potatoes and licorice

Is anyone with CKD on Clonidine b/p drug?
I am stage 5, and had to be taken off Losartan because of hyperkalemia. My Neph gave me a new drug which I couldn't tolerate as it made my heart race. So she said maybe you dont need to be on a b/p med since that ofc visit it was only 130/xx. I subsequently had an appointment with my cardiologist

Stopping beta blocker
I’m three years post HA now and living a fairly normal life other than a few extra tablets in the morning. I have been doing a bit of reading and research seems to suggest that long term beta blocker post HA where all other functions are normal is not beneficial - stay on in for 12 months then withdraw

When does supplementation become toxic or counter-productive?
My Dear Fellow Adventurers, Firstly, thank you for the wealth of information and inspiration - having this commuity makes so much difference! I have a question today, that I have already asked both my doctor and pharmacist (neither were able to help): as I add a new supplement every few months
