I’m three years post HA now and living a fairly normal life other than a few extra tablets in the morning.
I have been doing a bit of reading and research seems to suggest that long term beta blocker post HA where all other functions are normal is not beneficial - stay on in for 12 months then withdraw.
I only take 2.5mg in the morning, but this week I have stopped taking that. I am seeing the doc on Monday to discuss, I did discuss stopping with my GP about 18 months ago but he became unwell and is no longer working so I have had no further med review.
I’m 45 and exercise in the gym 3 times a week, last night spin session without bisoprolol. Heart rate higher than any time in the last 3 years for a sustained period but no pain at all.
The big thing I have noticed this week is that the brain fog and fatigue I have put down to age, Covid, post HA or whatever has lifted and I feel better than I have for the last three years. If that is what bisoprolol is doing to me there’s no way I’m staying on it if every other function is fine (BP under control with Losartan and no arrhythmia). Interested to hear from others who have dropped the beta blocker, I know from previous involvement in the forum that some have.
