I am in permanent a-fib. I am trying to find help for the breathlessness it causes. I have had 3 cardioversions - they didn't work - one lasted 2 days. I am on metropolol, losartan, lipitor, xarelto, lasix, klor con and tikosyn. I am too old for an ablation procedure - 85-year-old female. Any suggestions

Digital ulcer update
Had fingernail removed 3 weeks ago after 8 months with digital ulcer under nail which would not heal. Procedure done under general anaesthetic, pain afterwards very severe, then a week ago it became infected so on anti biotics. It seems to be improving at last. Not sure what long term effect will be,

Digoxin for AF
I take 125mcg each day in the morning and this has been very successful after being unable to tolerate beta blockers(very breathless) I was one and a half months before I found out that these act better taken on an empty stomach .I also take losartan but as I find difficulty because of the side effects

What now?
Just about a year ago I had my 4th ablation. I was told to stay on all my drugs, Bisoprolol, Losartan, Bumetanide, Warfarin until ECG at a year marker. During the ablation they also found that I had Pulmonary Hypertension. Yesterday the ECG confirmed my suspicion that I had gone back into AF - I think

Advice for newbie please
I've just been diagnosed with paroxysmal AF and, with a very supportive GP, I'm starting on the road to find a treatment that suits me best. I've read a lot but would love some tips on questions I should really be asking. In hindsight I had probably had infrequent episodes of AF that just left me feeling

Every medication seems to give me awful side effects. G.P. seems disinterested
Latest side effect of Losartan is dizziness resulting since April 2015in Colles fracture of left wrist. Less than one week after removal of cast tripped and could not recover balance, resulting in soft tissue injury of left hand and three more weeks of plaster cast. On 25th December bent down to pick

Recently diagnosed
Dear all - I have been recently diagnosed with atrial fibrillation, after I went into the GP with a fast heart rate (I hadn't noticed the irregularity) following anxiety after 2 eye operations for pressure, with several pressure spikes due to reaction to the steroid drops. I'd never heard of atrial

Rising cholesterol
I haven't written on this site for over a year so hello again! I just wondered whether I am likely to be offered a statin at my next drs visit in about 6 weeks. my BP had suddenly shot up to 150<> /90<> when I had my 6 month check up in September for no apparent reason. In the surgery it was 200/100

First iloprost infusion
Hello, I have Raynauds and a tentative diagnosis of limited cutaneous systemic sclerosis. I could not tolerate nifedipine; I can tolerate losartan potassium but it does not seem to offer any symptom relief. My rheumatologist has now arranged for me to have iloprost. I am having my first iloprost infusion

constant cough
Ever since I started on Lisinipril I have had a constant cough, doctor did change me to Losartan, but wanted me to return to Lisinipril. He insists that my cough is not caused by medication but that I have asthma which produces the cough. He has put me on inhalers, but I now have insomnia, lost weight

Annual reviews
I while back people were asking if others had regular reviews with their doctor so I thought the following may be of interest. I will be 70 next month, had AF but clear for the last nearly seven years after three ablations, still get occasional bouts of multiple ectopics and short runs of tachycardia

Update, so much happening
i saw EP and he wants to wait for muscle biopsy results first, still waiting for this. ENT referred me back to Nuero also recommending muscle biopsy as MRI of ear clear. Bisoprol seems to be fine after changing from Sotolal . Heamotoligist is organising a referral to Guy & St Thomas as he thinks it is
