Qrisk of 13.5%, soon to be 14.5% and offered a statin. What would anyone here do?
The dr knew I'd refuse it and I did! Firstly I asked her if she would take one if offered and she said NO!! She felt NICE wasn't right to be offering them to everyone with a risk over 10% if they have no other problems regarding their heart health. I've just had my BP meds reduced at a 6 month check

Muscle cramps from losartan. Quit taking last week and replaced it with ubuiquinol. 100 mg once daily. Taking metoprolol 2x daily. Can I take ubuiquinol in its place. Maybe ubuiquinol 3x daily @ 100mg. Cholesterol is up and sugar at last visit. Would like to get off these meds. Plz advise.

Even more shortness of breath?
My husband was prescribed citalpram three weeks ago - at the same time his bp medication Losartan was upped to 50mg a day. Slowly his breathing has become much worse, he has no symptoms of an infection just dreadful shortness of breath. I wondered if any of you had any experience with either or both

I put this as a post by mistake, I just want to know from someone with permanent AF if it is normal to be out of breath...
I had a successful cardioversion last June and was kept on Amiodarone, Bisoporole, Losartan & Warfarin I was unable to see the Cardiologist at the 2 month follow-up & was kept on Amiodarone & Bisoporole (2.5mg) by his colleague & told to make an appointment in 6 months time after having the 24 hour

Back in AF after almost a year following a cardioversion and taking Amiodarone.
The cardiologist has told me to stop taking Amiodarone which was causing a few problems, and up the dose of Bisoporole and keep my hb at around 70. I am now taking 5 mg Bisoporole (before the cardioversion I was on 10). I have permanent AF with few symptoms, and am 68 yrs old, I now get breathless going

UPDATE
I just thought I would let you know how things progressed after my last post about anxiety. I made the call to the anxiety nurse and asked for a referral - still waiting for a call back but having said that he is just one nurse for this area and is probably pretty busy! (Will give him another week

Prescribed Tizanidine for migraine headaches
Hi Everyone, Wondering if anyone has used tizanidine for pain? My migraine doctor recently prescribed it for the combination headaches I now get, which seem to be both from the temporal arteritis and migraine headaches. I have spoken with my doctor about side effects and will be seeing her Wednesday

Does amlodipine help with Raynauds symptoms? I do take blood pressure medicine Losartan but have been on for years might change meds.
Also, notice a fine rash on several toes as my feet warm up and have treated with cortisone and antifungal with no change for months. Is this just part of Raynaud's?

Numbness, tingling limbs, memory, balance and speech,fatigue.. the list goes on.. referred to neurologist but all results r FINE! now what!!
Told that there is no central nervous system involvement - which I am very pleased about (MRI brain scan and lumbar picture came back fine)- so Neurologist referred me back to Rheumatologist - BUT - I saw him today and he has nothing much more to say other than this is Lupus and its good i havent got

What are the latest NHS guidelines for home blood pressure monitoring?
I was told by my doctor to take it twice a day [I think she said random times, not sure on that] and take it twice/three times with a minute or two in between. Then choose the lowest number and to do this for a week, working out an average reading. NOW she says goalposts have changed and to take 2 readings

I've recently been changed from 2.50 mg [Ramipril due to the dreadful cough] onto 50mg Losartan which I think is the equivalent dose.
This is for hypertension: I started on meds in early May with a 1.25mg dose of Ramipril raised in June to 2.50mg. the bp went down nicely until I returned from a lovely holiday in Provence just over 2 weeks ago and the bp had risen quite a bit, specifically the diastolic numbers and specifically first

What usually happens after a cardioversion - I expected to come off all the meds (not all at once obviously) but that's not happening.
I had a successful cardioversion in June, I had been taking Amiodarone for a week before, and was told by the cardio to continue with that and bisoprololo which had been reduced to 3.75, Coumadin,& Losartan until the follow up 2 months later, after a Holter ecg & thyroid test. Unfortunately I couldn't

Another " is this normal" question.
After a few months of very little AF activity, I'm now having a bit of a rough time of it feeling quite ill a lot of the time, light headed and aching neck and shoulders but no noticeable heartbeat extra activity. Have been diagnosed AF/SVT for about a year now and am on 10mg Bisoprolol, 50mg Losartan

AF Symptoms?
I have recently started to experience pains in my neck and shoulders, with a little "stich like" niggle under my heart, along with feeling quite ill. Am on warfarin, bisoprolol, losartan and simvastatin. I have had a few good months up until now, really disappointed as had began to feel "normal" again
