Had to go to ER for High BP. Anyone have advice on how long it takes to go down?
Recently went to ER as BP went to 265/184. Blood work showed no issues. MRI showed no brain bleed and echo was good (small murmur doc said nothing to be concerned about). Was told I dodged a bullet. Hospital was able to lower to 180’s over 90’s in three days. On 100 mg amlodipine and 10 mg of losartan

CANDESARTAN
Who has experience with Candesartan and/or Irbesartan? Losartan gave me anxiety and chest pain so I've been switched to Candesartan and I don't like the way I feel on it either. ANY success stories in controlling BP without nasty side effects???

Weight gain on meds
I had a dissected aorta in '17 and am on losartan 100mg and bisoprolol 10mg as I had palpitations too. I have put on about 2 st since. I don't eat very much and am active. If I change my meds or reduce tge dosage would this help to stop the weight gain please.

150mg Losartan?
After having a heart attack back at the start of March, I haven’t had much in the way of follow up but recently had a call from the Cardiology Pharmacologist. My GP switched me from 10mg of Ramipril a week after leaving hospital due to an allergic reaction, Covid was just kicking off so I was switched

Ascites with No Fibrosis?
When I’ve previously posted I’ve speculated about my diagnosis and was awaiting testing. My MRE came back as fatty 19% when it should be less than 5% but no fibrosis (F0). They do not know why I had ascites and if they’ll return. I am on 12.5 mg HCTZ. I ran out, and I feel my abdomen increasing with

High blood pressure
Hi. I’ve been on blood pressure medication for about 20 years. Had a HA in 2017 and some meds were changed. My BP stayed around the 135/78 mark. I took it on Sunday and it was 181/102. Went down to 162/90 on the next reading. Spoke to an out of ours gp and he said to double felodipine to 20mg as well

Potassium level raised
Hi, I’m new here. I’ve just been told I need a repeat blood test for U&E’s as my potassium level is 5.8. I take 100mg Losartan daily and I’m wondering if that’s the cause. Has anyone else experienced this?

Changing to Entresto
Hello there. Im new here and hoped I could find similar experiences on here. I have been given Entresto to replace Losartan and I feel awful. Very high heart rate with palpitations, high blood pressure and today my pressure is low. I feel dizzy and sick, but thankfully the palps have subsided. I

Ace inhibitors versus arbs
I am new to the forum. I have taken blood pressure medication for a number of years: 25mg Atenolol; 2.5mg Ramipril and as these didn't control BP, bendroflumathiazide was added. With the medication BP was around 145/75. My GP stopped bendroflumothiazide last year. Ramipril was increased, but BP

Coming off BP tablets
For the past 10 years or so, I have been prescribed various medications for hypertension, with varying degrees of success. Most recently I was taking 100mg Losartan and 2.5mg Indapamide. Just over two years ago, I felt a large mass in my abdomen, which was found to be a simple large renal cyst. Last

Heart medication and osteoarthritis
I wonder if anyone can please help? I had a heart attack last January, and I am on Clobidogrel, Losartan and Rosuvastatin. I have severe osteoarthritis of the knees and hips, and the pain has become much worse and spread to my back since being on these meds. After much googling, I am led to believe

EGFR MEASUREMENT
I normally live in UK but currently live in the Caribbean and my renal results are measured using the USA formula which I think is slightly different. My latest eGFR number is 33. I have only one kidney as I lost my left one to cancer. I am 86 year old female with chronic heart disease taking Losartan

Diclofenac
I had open heart surgery last year twice to repair a Ascending Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm. I'm on Dispersible Aspirin, Bisoprolol, Artovastatin, Losartan and Omneprazole. Now I've had lower back problems on and off for years and Diclofenac always solved it in a couple of days. I've put it out again and

GCA patient saw cardiologist yesterday, med changes
Hi all: So I took, my weatherman to Cardiologist yesterday. Routine checkup, because of the history of CABG 2005 and stent replacement last year and occasional chest pain with flareups. So during his visit yesterday, Mac told cardiologist about needing nitro 3x in one week with symptoms of GCA. This

Losartan
Hi All, I'm a newbie here. I'm 34 years old and was told I had hypertension around two and a half years ago. I've been on a couple of BP tablets in the first few months which didn't seem to work for me, and I have been on Losartan 100mg for around 18-months. I've recently been experiencing dizziness

Medication timing
Sorry, another post from the newbie here! Just curious when do you take your blood pressure medication? I take 25mg of losartan and generally take it with breakfast. I have never been told of a best time to take it. What do you guys find? thanks :-)
