CANDESARTAN

Who has experience with Candesartan and/or Irbesartan? Losartan gave me anxiety and chest pain so I've been switched to Candesartan and I don't like the way I feel on it either. ANY success stories in controlling BP without nasty side effects???

Hi Lynne. Just asked you on the other post what you were on then saw this post. My husband takes Candesartan and has for a couple of years now. His side effects initially were problems with his sinuses (which he also had a few years back on Telmisartan too but much much worse). That eventually sorted itself out although he still occasionally gets days when he is nasally but overall, he's fine. I used to take Losartan in the mid 2000s and found them to be awful. My main problem with them was awful sinusitis and chest infections. How long have you been taking Candesartan?

The reality is all meds have some side effects, the difference is some we can tolerate and some we can't. Keep trying until you find one you are comfortable with.

Hi, I have taken Candesartan for almost 20 years together with two other medicines and can say that i have had no side effects whatsoever and my blood pressure has been stable the whole time.

thats great for you! what 2 other meds do u have to take w candesartan, since obviously candesartan alone doesnt work?

I’ve tried all the blood pressure medications there are I think. Took Losartan for 10 days,my anxiety was through the roof. Same with Candesartan. Had to take Valium. Now on Verapamil, taking it am and pm ,no good if your an Asthmatic though. Not taken Valium today. 3rd day on Verapamil S R. Took it last year and got stomach ache so stopped. I think it was because I didn’t take it with food. Make sure you take it with food.

My husband had triple by pass 3 years ago, used to be on 16 mg Candesartan, they doubled it to 32 mg. he was like a Zombie,now back to 16mg. He’s still not the best,but he is 87

I think my problem is I like my bananas and fruit too much and your not supposed to have too much on a lot of these medications, makes your potassium levels rise and gives you heavy legs and AF. It is also good if you have Raynards,I have. Well I’m nearly 85 so have done well but don’t want to give up my fruit. Better to die happy 😃

i was given this and took for 1 week and ended up with a burn like rash all up my arms. never again

dang! yea, i wont touch candesartan again!!
