Sorry, another post from the newbie here! Just curious when do you take your blood pressure medication? I take 25mg of losartan and generally take it with breakfast. I have never been told of a best time to take it. What do you guys find? thanks

Medication timing
Hi
I take mine every morning after breakfast, I assume that there is no best time, as everyone is different, as long as it’s taken the same time every day.
I take mine before going to bed due to side effects making me feel a bit unsteady when taking in morning .
I take mine in the evening, but don’t think it really matters as long as you remember to take them.
Hi, take mine at breakfast time this was how I was given them in hospital so just carried on.
Recent research has shown that blood pressure medication is more effective when taken in the evening.
This was verified by my clinical pharmacist. There was also a previous post on this platform last year which prompted me to ask about this.
Hi, I’m new on here also!
I asked my GP when was the best time to take tablets, “ she said it doesn’t matter what time so so long as you take them at the same time each day”
I had mild side effects for a few days so decided to take them at nighttime. They have subsided now . Good luck and take care.
I have always taken mine with my breakfast cereal, as indeed is the case for my Bisoprolol, Rosuvastatin and Vitamin B tablets. I finish off with soluable Aspirin followed by a cup of tea. This regime suits me as it affords a good measure of protection to my stomach and I can then forget about medication and get on with my day. 😀
I take my bp meds going to bed, other meds in the morning.
Thanks guys for your replies xx
I take mine at breakfast too. I take 75mg and find if I take it before and don’t have breakfast I get palpitations. Safer with breakfast 😉
